    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

I think there is something to be said for a largely unheralded side with a few stars winning in a World Cup year.msame thing happened for the reds in 2011. Maybe other sides have players subconsciously holding something back or not at their peak because of the rwc? A World Cup year is not the...

Waratahs v Crusaders, round 15, Saturday 23 May @ Homebush

It is the closest as it is two people performing a speak tackle on a player and this was after the whistle. It is a vet rate occurrence. I believe Whitlock put his arm down to protect himself which was the only reason he didn't land on his shoulder. Personally, they were both complicit in...

Waratahs v Crusaders, round 15, Saturday 23 May @ Homebush

Didn't see the other two incidents so can't comment. Personally I am glad the abs in the crusaders get a couple of weeks extra rest this year. the extended super season puts us all at a disadvantage as it is virtually a non stop season of super rugby/rc and a month before the rwc starts

Mccaw I nailed on. They can't go back on him now surely? Wouldn't mind seeing cane for 50 minutes and mccaw to close games out?

Waratahs v Crusaders, round 15, Saturday 23 May @ Homebush

It's the closest act to umaga/Saint Kevin on bod I have seen which people still scream blue murder about today and the game is far stricter on this today. Not should have gone. Didn't really want to come into this thread for parochial Aussie tub thumping and read pfitz first up. At least I was...

    New Zealand v Australia - Auckland - 23 August 2014

Danny, as a former waiopehu 1st xv man, I find it hard to believe they do not field a side any more. We had 7-8 teams in my day. I believe it has something to do with the current headmaster and has a poor attitude to sport/rugby. I heard this in the lead up to the reunion this year. A school...

McCaw finds a new way to cheat

Good thanks Danny, sort of forgot about this place after the wobs were dispatched in the RWC semi final ;-) Started a new job at Msft the day after the final as well so had less time for defending McCaw's honour against the Australian hordes. I see Mike turned 40 yesterday. geez, time flies...

McCaw finds a new way to cheat

Another video scarf man? Really? You need to get out more. I do fear for you when Richie retires. I get the feeling you need him far more than he needs you.

    Congratulations NZ

cheers barbarian, great win but the nerves were shredded at the end. Had to to start a new job the next day so couldn't get too hammered. In London, so was pissed by 11am so thankfully had time to sober up!

    Blind-Blindside

strange as kaino didnt play in that game. Bled 2 only proved that without Kaino and Read in the side and carrying an inured backrower, then Aus can compete with the NZ backrow. Bled 1 and RWC 1/2 proved that, against the top NZ backrow, aus struggle to compete.

RWC FINAL - New Zealand vs France

We have played france 50 times for 37 wins and 1 draw. Average score is 25-13 in AB's favour. Average tries scored is 3-1 in favour of the AB's. That is a decent record against us as most nations go (SA and Aus, at a push, may have a better record) Having said that France do have a special...

    The Haka

scarfie, The funny thing is that Aus has choked at at least the same amount of world cups as NZ. '87 favourites, 95 defending chanps and favourites, 03 defending champs and home ground advantage and even paid the ref for scrum penalties. 07 lost against the worst english team in living...

    So where to from here?

I think the current players are young enough to be around for both the Lions and the next world cup. Seriously, you could pencil 20 names in now for 2015 from the current wobs squad and go about getting the right players for the next 10 spots. Keep them together and let them win and grow...

Say It Ain't So!!! McCaw may be GONE...

really happy to help you on your way WJ. I bet Nathan feels a little silly too after his remarks before the match!

Cooper - Good or Great rugby player - discuss.

I think allowing him to be 'hidden' on defence leads to half the problems. It allows him to think he is special and doesn't need to do the dirty work of his other teammates. His defence is poor but he can tackle, goes too high most of the time but he can do it and defence really is an attitude...

Cooper - Good or Great rugby player - discuss.

Outstanding at super xv level. Average at best at test level. So far. I have said on here for months that Cooper is not the player you need for pressure, knockout rugby. Having said that, is Quade's style suited to that type of game. He will have to evolve as a player if so, he is mainly a...

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

I thought he was only inviting Fitzy over for a BBQ?! You enjoy the win danny? Mike was acting like a pussy all week worrying about the result. He needs to harden up, I blame the parents! ;-)
