There are no rules only laws in rugby! Agree some of the refereeing was questionable (especially the 2nds) but how many sideline experts know the laws and have ever had to interpret them in a game? Why not enjoy the game and support good play from all sides

Some of the comments from the GT parents on the sideline in the 1sts and 2nds was also quite abusive. Pity they cant just enjoy the quality of the rugby rather than try to referee from their standpoint. Amazingly most of them wouldnt know a rule from a law!

All the GT sides I saw today were very good at the breakdown. They have obviously been well coached in this facet. The refs also seemed reluctant to ping them when they "took the space" but BBC were too slow to react in the 1sts. The yellow carding of Swain in the first half seemed a bit harsh...

If Wilkins is fit, presumably he will play 15 and Tom Morrison will go back to 2nds

Would get excluded for the red cards he picked up IMO.

Still a few out of position! I believe Stephen Moore and James Hanson played prop at schoolboy level. Also I am not sure Higginbotham played firsts at TSS, even though he has made up for it since! Would be hard to separate Cooper, O'Connor and To'omua as 10s based on what I saw. They clearly...

I know that TGS and GT have a vast majorty of players who have being attending there schools since year 8. BGS and possibly a few others would fit this criteria. Agree re TGS and GT. BGS have only 2 or 3 run on players from grade 8 I think you will find

quote="Black234, post: 523189, member: 9998"]Whatever happened to breeding 1st XV players from grade 8 through to 12? BBC had 8 of the run on side in 1sts today who have been at school at least since grade 9 - 2,5,7,8,11,12,14,15. 4 more have been there for the last 2 years (1,3,10,13) with...

ie Great spectacle it was Tripod but not sure Church were clearly the better team. `10/12/13 were great when they got front foot ball but Churchie forwards outplayed for last 45 minutes IMO. The last BBC try was a product of great forward control - 20 mtr pick and drive! BBC only had 15...

Darcy Swain replaced Lucas Palmer who was injured in the leadup to the last try. Replacing injured players is allowed! Great win by BBC when they realised they could win the forwards battle. 20 metre pick and drive try on FT setting up a Bowyer conversion to win. Interesting to see Richie...

Word is that Wilkins is out but Quick will play. McLean will play seconds. His attack is top drawer but he is a bit individual at times, even though that has improved the last few weeks - I would pick him in 1sts if I was coach! Digby, BBC has other x factors than Bowyer (Bowen) - Tauakipulu...

Agree will be a good game at Churchie this weekend. Like Bowen at 10 as he creates more space for the outside runners than Russell. Russell and Quick are also solid defensively. Sounds like they will need to be based on reports of Churchies centres attack recently!

State High definitely controlled and recycled the ball better when they had it and played with great intensity. Just seemed to run out of steam at the end and BBC, when they controlled the ball were always dangerous.

Some BBC defensive lapses against a committed BSHS. In the end when BBC controlled the ball they had too much class across the park, particularly outside backs. Bronson, Benroy strong and Bowyer, Edwards, Russell good in the backs. Tom Morrison showed enterprise at 15 moving up from 2nds. 2nds...

Paulo Leleisiuao did pay but limped off in first half with ankle injury.

Need to read your rule book. Lifting tackle and dropping a player on his head is automatic red card. Only call the ref could make.

Nathan not quite 6' 2" and Bronson bit more than 5'6". Agree as in all games the #10 channel will be busy. BBCs challenge will be to retain good possession and react quickly in defence. They have the talent but have to prove they can win against good side.
