    Pic needs a caption

Berrick: What's it like to be old, bald and washed up? Fitzy: Can't help you. You'll never go bald.

    Wallabies squad named

I was watching the Seattle Seahawks the other day and saw how their fans would go crazy, making as much noise as possible whenever their opponents had the ball in an attempt to disrupt their calls and plays. If the other team got rattled then the cacophony just got louder. This reminded me of...

    Waratahs 2013

Agree DB, from an attacking point of view I can't really say that any of the Waratah backs have done much over the last couple of years. Defensively though, Barnes, Carter and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 10, 12 and 13 makes a very strong midfield. Put the dancing boys outside them.

    Waratahs 2013

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is the incumbent OC and Barnes has spent most of the Deans era at IC. They should go OK if Carter or Horne get injured. I'm looking forward to the performances of our backline under Cheika. I'm tipping a big year for Horne and Kingston.

Who should be the next ARU CEO?

IS would you stay? I don't think he will and besides, other organisations will swoop. Someone who has worked extensively in every tier of the game will be a big loss for the newbie. Working the BBQ on Saturday mornings ain't quite the same. Reminds me of the story about this guy who used to...

Who should be the next ARU CEO?

More than 30 years ago there was a very average player at Mosman who took over the administrative duties of the club when a very serious liver disorder befell his predecessor. This very average blindside flanker/prop proved himself to be an excellent administrator, and having rescued Mosman...

Who Should Run The Wallabies Attack in 2013?

I will be very interested in the chemistry between Deans and Cooper. If Cooper remains fit there is a good chance that he will have a terrific season for the Reds. How will Deans handle a confident Cooper given his game plan will probably be very different to Link's.

    Waratahs 2013

He is one for the future DB, although I've always thought he plays like a 13. He is only 19 years old. Playing 12 in S15 is recipe for getting smashed in both attack and defense. Carter's crash balls and defense are better than others, but I think the heavy stuff and injuries slow him down...

Who Should Run The Wallabies Attack in 2013?

I can't understand why people always talk about playing JOC (James O'Connor) anywhere but on the wing. He is one of the worlds best wingers and yet people want to play him in positions where he performs as an average S15 player. The back three weapon of Beale, JOC (James O'Connor) and Ioane is a proven exciting combination and...

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

I was assuming things are different since Stallions arrived. Who were the bottom two S&C clubs?

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

I have been thinking that the strength and conditioning programs of these clubs might be important, given his loss of bulk. It is a disgrace. Maybe someone in marketing at NSWRU will ask themselves why the AFL paid him $1.5 million to play out in the west.

    Waratahs 2013

He is not that tall. The Waratahs list him at 195cm and they tend to exaggerate. He is a terrific ball running lock but in that tradition is not particularly concerned about passing the ball. While you would think that 6 would be an option Matt Barr, the SD assistant coach and also his...

    Waratahs 2013

Jed Holloway is a talented footballer, but can you have a 194cm lock these days? Are there other plans for him?

    Shute Shield 2013

I am, but there will be sentences that will refer to their development. It is a bit disingenuous to isolate those and infer that I'm off topic.

    Shute Shield 2013

I suggest you watch replays of last years U20 Rugby World Cup. The Oz boys looked physically diminished by most other teams and it was a shame they wern't in the position to butcher tries. While USyd has a great program, with the exception of a few, they don't get kids until they are 18 years...

    Shute Shield 2013

My point is that union will never be able to compete with league when it comes to brilliant 16 year old kids who play both codes. If they are that good they are on rookie contracts that tie up parents, schools with more than a little cash, all worth more than what Lee Grant has suggested fringe...

    Shute Shield 2013

I've always thought that cherry picking the 20 year olds who don't make it into top grade league would be a smart way to go.

Quade telling it how it is

This whole affair doesn't make sense. Why would the ARU take on a manager like Khoder Nasser. You know you are going to get shitfight. He is smart, good at his job and makes a heap of money for his clients by expanding their opportunities. Playing hard ball with him would more than likely mean...

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

He has committed to just 6 months of S15. He hasn't played rugby since he was 15. Can anyone remember him passing the ball in League- I can't. He hasn't ruled out returning to League next year or playing in Japan. And yet when you take into account the ARU fine, he is getting the same money as...

    Waratahs 2013

Introducing a 19 year old to S15 in a position he's never played is. shall we say, Dingo-esque.
