There are no disadvantage playing a double round (h&a) vs each opponent in the competition and top of the log is the winner. The further any competition move away from this format the more the luck factor come into it.

Always thought its unfair working very hard to end top of the log for months, then losing a semi or a final. One match ruining their whole seasons hard work. but then I am VERY old school.

As long as all the teams dont play each other at least once (this will never happen again) this competition wont work. Having the CC the conferense system is just an overkilling of the same old same. Numbers will continue to drop till the competition die.

For SA its far from perfect, in fact its bad for our rugby. Our rugby heart still is the CC with its u19/u21 leagues which develope our schoolboy to senior players. Way back when Luyt started with the format it work well when the top CC teams played NZ/Aus provinces. It degraded our CC nowadays.

the S100 got to the point that it need to end. SA have to go north , now more then ever. CC rugby and long tours will make much more money then this stupid format. It will get there eventually.
