Also ........some of the results with bigger gyration would seem to imply a lack of depth across some of the teams

Not really Gold spanked the Downs and Ipswich accounted for NQ handily where the scoreline was flattered by 2 x late tries when the result was in hand NQ laid the smack down on Gold tonight and especially in the last 15m of the game

    AIC Rugby 2016

For what it's worth I think the dual offering of Rugby and League is smart GPS Schools scratch their heads and wonder why the majority of league boys and their families don't fall over themselves to embrace Rugby and the greater element of culture embedded in the traditions of that particular...

    AIC Rugby 2016

This is from a post of mine on last year's club thread after the State Champs / City v Country Game Turns out that 3 of the 6 AIC kids transferred ( not 4 as predicted ) and 1 of the " other private colleges / state school kids did too . Within 6 months and with another 4 years left to run...

But back on point - Bigger Schoolboy 9 and 10's ? I think it will be hard into the foreseeable future Unless Schools open up their Sporting Programs more and more Adolescent growth and resultant adult capacities are perhaps too latent for this to occur Big Centres have been all the rage...

Look at American Football for example Johnny Unitas and Joe Namath from a 20 year period from mid 1950's to mid 1970's - 6'1 to 6'2 and late 80kg to 90kg for a top line NFL Quarterback Roger Staubach to Joe Montana - 6'3 and 90kg The present ......Cam Newton , Ben Roethlisberger, Carson...

Why it is an either / or argument ? Why not both ? Big Halves with the same fundamental skillsets will become more the norm within 10 years at the elite level in Senior Rugby. It's inevitable. Sure there will be different "styles" of 9's and 10's just as the 12 has become a variable style...

And so as not to make this an AIC / GPS thing ..........a particular shout out to White's No 9 - non GPS or AIC aligned . Great game against Northern NSW a week ago. One of the better No 9 games I've seen so far. Well done fella.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Could be. Although there are some quality U15 GPS Schooled Boys running around across the 3 x Brisbane Teams . I just don't know that the same depth is there in comparison to the AIC Boys I note with interest that the Gold Team and the White Team have a few players running around from U14...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Slightly interesting when you look at the mix of AIC Boys and GPS Boys on the 3 x Brisbane U15 Teams Blue seemed to be more AIC dominant with 50% of their squad AIC boys , 30% GPS boys and the rest State or other Colleges This mix is flipped around the other way on the Gold and White teams...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Yes. Well done to the Sunshine Coast Team - took a lot of character to come back and give it a good go after a big result against them the previous week.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

There is a broader issue , across all sports and at all clubs , of misplaced passion and improperly channelled intensity. And if we're honest we've all seen it . And unfortunately , all too frequently. Tennis , as a sport , does it right - and this probably has one of the highest elements of...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Quite right Sunny Pool D looks like a similar slugfest with White and Gold Coast having probably equal claims and the lads from Western Australia carrying some reputation

Brisbane Jnr Club Rugby (U13 and Up ) - 2016

Free Agency updates ? With all the seismic movement at Easts and Wests in the 14's the natural axis of Mother Earth surely must have re-aligned to East Pole and West Pole

    AIC Rugby 2016

One small point I would make for the Rugby Diehards at all Schools ...........irrespective of whether you are GPS or AIC ........Rugby is but one part of an overall offering The mistake that us Rugby Diehards make is that we frequently misunderstand the order of things when we get pissed at...

Perhaps his Majesty was playing on from BAG's interpretation of what FIFO means ( Fly in and Fly out ) - hence the whole Heli Pad gag I think we have established what it means now anyway I'm sure His Majesty wasn't trying to be malevolent
