    QJRU State Championships 2016

I'm particularly looking forward to seeing how the U16 competition shakes out This year's U15 Gold Cup had some very good players from NQ, Darling Downs and the Gold Coast Team was very good . Will be interesting to see if this year's JGC players will be back in this comp

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

Will be interesting to see the make up of GPS boys in QLD State of Origin over a 5 to 10 year window My tip ? Maybe up to 1/3rd of the QLD State of Origin Team It won't be as voluminous as the Reds - where ( say ) 70% of the playing list are GPS Boys , however , more boys from GPS Schools...

John Eales , a Marist alumni , was one of those types of men . In fact , I think it's fair to say he was the poster boy for that type of man. Just sayin

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

And yes I well understand the territories and lines of demarcation that define dysfunctionality between Schools /Associations and Administrative Bodies It's probably why we don't look like a puncher's chance of beating the All Blacks anytime soon ( and haven't for a considerable period of time )

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

OK ........so correct me if I am wrong but essentially you are saying that : 1. The current GPS v AIC format is acceptable and it promotes competition 2. That if AIC kids don't want to participate than fuck ém 3. That mixed trial teams are OK in theory but you don't trust AIC or CSS...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

And by the way......how does keeping the status quo promote competition ? Clearly , there is no competition between GPS and AIC Schools so why not get the State Bodies involved to balance up the trial teams If the Associations would submit to working with the QRU who in turn would submit to...

Actually Sage ........it is the World . At least the World of Professional Sports. But you are right when you say it is not "our" World . Yet. Rugby lags waaaaaay behind - not only other Football Codes in this Country but , together with other Football Codes in this Country what the reality...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

What don't you trust exactly ? What if the QRU Development Guys expanded their scouting to attend and evaluate more fully and had decision making capacity over construction of these trial teams In a perfect world all boys from U15 and up should be tagged and databased and evaluated on an...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

To be fair ........ I play wing did say better AIC teams would beat GPS teams without their scholarship players from the AIC Comp. Personally , I think that statement is still outlandish - but , he still deserves to be referenced accurately The recruitment base is more multi dimensional than...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

I mean............no U13 or U14A team should be consistently leaving their own ruck ball vulnerable because they are a step slow or not as committed as what they need to be to get on their runner Not moving feet properly to take the space in the collision and then poor body height when the...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

None of the U13 or U12 results should be surprising The trend over the last few years is that Ipswich and State High go hard with BBC and GT , however , Ipswich and State High own the muscle early and have better connectivity , socio-economically and culturally , to the profile of recruit in...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

Well I said ......a few Sunny Coast kids . You say 4 . Splitting hairs aren't we ? And from U13's to U14's there were a couple of internal growth stories in the tight forwards . I consider that internal growth . Reading , as they say , is fundamental

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

No they didn't But as to your broader point about who can explain the success from U11 to U14 at BBC last year ......I think you have to segment it further and not group it together as there are very different reasons at each age group level Insofar as the 11's are concerned I'm pretty sure...

Brisbane Jnr Club Rugby (U13 and Up ) - 2016

Good to see some commentary around another age group ( The U13's ) and what's happening And yes , the colour referencing to region is correct

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

Careful not to get nose bleeds from upon your high horses people The reality of school sports today is that there are significantly more demands placed on kids playing sport at a high level , and yeah , it is a load to manage performance across academics and sporting endeavours Anything that...
