Wallabies no 7 for the world cup

Well yeah, in SA of course ;) I think a 6 is more important in attack, and a 7 is more important in defense. 6 secures ball and 7 steals. That's why I don't mind the French tactic of using a Left and Right flanker instead of a Openside or Blindside. They can afford to have players that have...

Wallabies no 7 for the world cup

And the current Wallaby front row have been doing the same, so it works out for us too. I actually thought that Higgers has been playing a lot tighter for the Wobs than for the Reds.

Tri Nations Game 5 - Springboks vs All Blacks

Testing Weepu as an option at ten, maybe?

Giteau must be in Wallabies World Cup squad

Disagree about Phipps, Ruggo. His game against Samoa was a big part of the Wallabies failure that day.

    Juan Smith Gone

If Shalk bounces back, this would be a fearsome backrow, even if Spies goes missing.

Wallabies no 7 for the world cup

I've always thought that a 6 has to play like a shorter, faster lock.

    Goal kicking

It's an accurate reflection of the origins of out game that kicking is scored so highly. It used to be the ONLY way to score points, after all.

    Waratahs 2012

I don't think they're solely awarded for on-field commitment, Reg.

Want a pilferer? Pick Robinson. If you take a 5/2 split, why fill it with multi-positional players?

That's fine if you're just cruising towards a comfortable win, but how often does that happen against NZ?

Hodgson isn't a game changer. He's an honest tryer, but I don't see him making a big enough impact off the bench. I think he's an example of a great Super player who's solid, but doesn't have the jagged edge required for Test rugby.

I think with Angaa at 12 you get the same game as McCabe, but IMO McCabe is the faster of the two. A bit more space at 13, and that pace is pretty useful.

South Africa v. Australia GAGR MOM

    3. Moore 2. Alexander 1. Elsom Great to see Moore's leadership qualities, particularly doing most of the talking when the Wallaby pack was getting the ascendancy in the later stages of the game. He also looked to be the most satisfied with the win, doing his best Andy Dufresne impression after...

Tri Nations Game 5 - Springboks vs All Blacks

Still yet to see him be as effective at the Test level as in CC and Super 15. I suppose that's why it's "Test" rugby.

    Player Nick Names

I hate writing A. Fainga'a and S. Fainga'a (inb4 you're a lazy student). Can I suggest Sangaa for Saia (like sandwich) and Angaa for Anthony (because he tackles angrily)?

Pretty good lineup, Cutter, but I'd prefer to have McCabe at 13 and Angaa at 12.

Wallabies Number 8 for the RWC

Good to have Naza back. The Naza approach to building a forward pack; only pick blokes who don't know any other way to run except straight forward and through anyone in their way.

Wallabies Number 8 for the RWC

I agree Groucho, but it's been a while since we saw him playing to his full potential.

Giteau must be in Wallabies World Cup squad

A Queenslander and a Queanbeyanite. What a dark day... ;)
