Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

I was sent a link to this article on NZ Rugby by a UK Journo. ‎If you haven’t seen it, this lengthy article is well worth reading. I think the journo is bang on the mark. Would value other contributor's opinions...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

I will politely decline at this point. Who knows what talent sits in AICES, CCC and CHS that hasn't been discussed in G and G forums. Not to mention kids in CAS, ISA, and GPS who grow, get fitter, get stronger and get noticed beyond our 2 cents worth. The tourney is 8 months away so happy to...

    ISA Rugby 2016

CAS and GPS threads have predicted U16s Rep teams for 2016. Anyone want to have a go for ISA? Would have thought you could put together a cracking side with a number of players likely to play opens. Would have thought Devine and Easy as a pretty good start as players eligible to play 16s...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

I will be looking forward to seeing the battle for #9 and #10. Still maintain Dalton outplays McCormack whenever Joeys plays New. Who took the points on the day last time between Savala (S) and Bell (I)? I suspect that all the players pencilled in will be in the final running for squad...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Yep saw the Joeys V Shore game. Went as predicted final score 41 Joeys 0 Shore. Joeys scrum was dominant. Lots of tight heads. Credit to the Shore boys they didn't go uncontested and at least gave it a go. All Joeys forwards had a good game, picks probably Roberts and Heaven but all...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Glascott would probably get the nod over Farr Jones based on current form. Re Scotts, I am struggling for any other prospects. Scots went uncontested in the game against Joeys so I cant see other forwards knocking off those already discussed. There is another big kid in the Scots Centres...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Thanks Vintage Red. Bugger! He is a real talent. I hope he has the deserved opportunity in representative Rugby via his school association. So to update my ruminations: A Team 1. Will McLennan (I) 2. Julian Heaven (J) 3. Angus Bell (N) 4. Liam Jansen (N) 5. Jordan Brown (K) 6. Liam Scolari...

Would agree with the suggestions of CnP and Red/Blue. I rate Dalton over McCormack. Tecjek V Dalton would be a great contest. Scolari is one to watch not sure if he is a forward or a back these days! I wonder if there is anyone on the radar from TAS, High or Grammar? Shore I am really...

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2015

So does anyone wish to kick off the debate on what the U16 GPS Presidents squads could look like? CAS 2016 Thread developed a healthy discussion so hope the same can eventuate here (or wherever it should go!). Broadly agreed with the collective view of the CAS squad selected Not sure if...

Its a shame when the paid work gets in the way of the fun stuff. Trying to ration my time on G and G. Notice a few posters don't!

Couldn't agree more. This debate gets fought in the extremes. The boys and their parents have every right to expect the school to support their rugby programme with resourcing that meets reasonable expectations and doesn't set the boys up for failure or injury. Will be a very interesting weekend in the SJRU 15a comp. 5 teams playing for 4 spots 4 teams on same points and a double header on Sunday between Blacktown and Lindfield. Forward pack is virtually Gordon v Parramatta who had a ding dong battle in mudgee. Will be worth a trip to Grantham...

TSC may have beaten Joeys in the 15a s but they also went uncontested in the scrum due to the dominance of the Joeys scrum. Very ordinary at this level that they couldn't muscle up. Credit to the joeys front row who made their point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RFTB I couldn't agree more. As a referee I share your frustrations around safety. Have seen a few unsuspecting year 7s on the side line cleaned up in sub opens games. Dodging Grandmas chair or drink carriers is a challenge. At the very least ropes 5 metres back would be a good start...

I could refer you to a number of Shore parents who would dispute your assertion that all boys train for Winter sports during the GPS Athletics season. My understanding is that those not doing Athletics are released from Saturday sports commitments period. Please don't shoot the messenger if I...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2015

First time posting here so please be gentle. I am not a parent nor an old boy of the school but my observation of Shore Rugby is that it is under-resourced and there is little commitment to getting the best out of the boys in any grade. The capability of the boys coming into year 7 is no...
