    Fantasy Super Rugby 2017

Yeah the Fox stats are a shambles. I am hoping the reason they haven't ended the lockout yet is because they're reviewing them. I compared them to the SMH and NZH stats and they are ridiculous. A few examples from my own team: - Creevy no tackles vs SMH 6 - Faf no runs and no tackles vs SMH...

    Fantasy Super Rugby 2017

A player can play at a high level and score few points in Fantasy And vice versa, as shown by Frisby's haul of 28. One of the top scoring scrum halves of the round.

    Fantasy Super Rugby 2017

Yeah, I had McKenzie, Bin Smuth and Hooper and they got 29 points between them. My first ever time playing, and three of my team got yellow cards - Hunt, Kepu and Faf. On top of that I'm discovering the frustration that comes when your bench players score 30-40 while your starters score bugger...

    Round 1 2017 Crusaders v Brumbies

Considering how poorly the Brumbies played for long stretches of that match it's impressive that they were in it right until the end. The Crusaders looked pretty good and the Brumbies somehow kept up. The match could easily have resulted the other way. I think Brumbies fans can be pretty happy...

Super Rugby 2017: matches not involving Australian teams

Why the hell was the Sunwolves player penalised for that last breakdown penalty after the siren?! Looked like a textbook breakdown pilfer to me and the Canes hung onto it for ages. Not the tackler, no ruck formed, on his feet and supporting his bodyweight. Pretty poor reffing overall IMO. No...

Super Rugby 2017: matches not involving Australian teams

Poor old Sunwolves aren't even playing that badly, the Hurricanes are just untouchable. Not helped by some shocking refereeing.

Round 1 - Reds vs Sharks, Suncorp Stadium, Friday 24th February @ 8:00pm AEDT (7:00pm AEST)

Had the same thought. Seriously thought he was! Decent performance by the Reds overall I thought. Sharks played well and it could have gone either way. Lots of high shots missed and for Hunt to get carded when he did was pretty bad luck. I thought it was clearly accidental and started low...

Round 1 - Reds vs Sharks, Suncorp Stadium, Friday 24th February @ 8:00pm AEDT (7:00pm AEST)

17 fantasy points on Fox for a 9 in 40 minutes is actually bloody good from what I can tell (or at least from the averages of last season). Somehow he got 16 fantasy points from that break down field. Must have been a line break, a couple of defenders beaten and some metres. Pity he undid it all...

Round 1 - Reds vs Sharks, Suncorp Stadium, Friday 24th February @ 8:00pm AEDT (7:00pm AEST)

Some promising signs in that half. Once those late passes start sticking the Reds are breaking the line at will. Will forgive them the handling errors this early in the season and with this humidity but some really stupid decisions that are inexcusable. Not threatening for the title just yet...

Super Rugby 2017: matches not involving Australian teams

Gee the Highlanders look poor tonight. Shocking handling and decision making. Chiefs look much better, barring the expected early season fumbles.

Round 1 - Reds vs Sharks, Suncorp Stadium, Friday 24th February @ 8:00pm AEDT (7:00pm AEST)

BTW, jokes aside - Aether will be packed this afternoon due to being booked for a function. Scratch or Caxton St better bets for pre-Reds beers.

Stay clear of Aether though. Cause that's where I'm going and I don't need no competition for a seat. ;)

    Round 1 2017 Rebels v Blues

I'll give JGB a bit of a pass for nerves but that was pretty poor overall. Deb looked like he deserved the 10 next start IMO. Placid looks gone for a while, poor bugger. Bad luck to survive such a dangerous contact and then get injured in the next tackle.

    Reds 2017

Impressive side. Not super keen on Sef as the bench THP but there aren't a lot of other options. Interesting that Stiles has stuck with McIntyre at 22. Doesn't seem to have agreed with some of the speculation here that Duncan P or Hunt (or even Frisby) could cover 10 and allow another inside back!

    Fantasy Super Rugby 2017

Milner-Skudder injured again for the Canes. Should upset a few Fantasy lineups, mine included. :/

    Western Force 2017

I was seriously considering buying in to that (and officially making the Force my second team) but was put off by the uncertainty around Super Rugby. I would hate to buy in and then the Force get punted from the comp.

And the wings swapped around too, if he's right.

    Round 1 2017 Rebels v Blues

Yeah Shipperley is out too. According to Fairfax, the toll is Naivalu, Koroibete, Shipperley, McMahon, Smith and Hanson.

    Round 1 2017 Rebels v Blues

Well, that is interesting. Naivalu and Koroibete both out. Both sides starting the season beset by injuries. Smith, Hanson and of course McMahon out as well. This could go either way. Hoping home ground advantage and the Blues' notoriously poor away form will prove the difference.

    Round 1 2017 Rebels v Blues

Rebels are underdogs with the bookies and have been all along. Never did understand why, the Blues are notoriously bad travellers and missing so many starters including SBW, they look thoroughly beatable by this Rebels team if they want the win badly enough.
