    The Wallabies Thread

I did read in the press where both Cheika and Hooper said the game was an improvement from the week before - wtf? Does anyone think they believe that or is it more of the political ‘control the message’ type statement designed to not admitting there are serious problems everywhere you look...

RC5: Springbokke vs Wallabies @ PE

Would love to know if the wallabies played to the game plan or not. Be good to know who to blame.

    Wallabies v Boks (SAF) 3-2-1s

Pocock 3 Genia 2 DHP 1 Cant make up my mind about Hoopers best position is it winger or outside centre.

    RA's new pathway model

Ok so we have a policy or plan for elite pathways, this is a high performance based policy and that's fine even if it lacks reported detail. Yes we need that I guess, even if it is piggy backing off a school based level of excellence already in place. I would like to see from the ARU a clear...

    Aussie Player Exodus

The club owners in uk arnt just in it for vanity. The clubs own the competition and know the value is a share of the comp not just the value of their individual team. That said they have to stay in the competition to maintain share of that value so I don’t see them reducing team spending...

    RA's new pathway model

So easy to criticise rugby in australia these days but at least this seems a positive step on first review. I have concerns though particularly at under 15 level, such as how are the kids selected and by whom. Based on what I have seen at BJRU selection trials I am not convinced that process or...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2018

Thanks Rob at Doubletake. The live streaming has been awesome. I think the GPS school’s rugby is about the best rugby to watch. As a tragic rugby fan it is fantastic to be able to watch these games. Great for development of the game and for the whole community of rugby, players, students, old...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2018

Nudgee looked a bit rusty v BGS whic( is expected after bye. Pasitoa goal kicking was excellent but he just seemed to be in cruise mode. They got the result and move on to the next game. I am worried that V TSS, Nudgee may struggle in forwards battle due to size. Will be important to see how...

    Bledisloe 2 - Saturday 25th August 2018 - Eden Park, Auckland

As I told my 14 year old son, don’t watch it as a fan, watch the game as a rugby lesson. The only way to get thru it.

I think Pasitoa has the potential to be a superstar. Impressed that he and others in the NC team absolutely play as team first and foremost. No ego or self interest or overly individual play. That is the real sign of individual potential. The depth at NC is impressive across the age groups.

    Reds 2019

With the very low crowd numbers this seasoon, a request for and granted advance from the ARU for cash flow purposes, possibly unpaid sponsorship fees, big wages for players not playing and a long time before anymore revenue comes in. Maybe the Reds can’t actually afford to sign anyone new or...

    Reds 2019

Watched Brad Thorn interviewed by Marto at Nudgee Terrace lunch. Was really interesting. Brad is clearly a tough guy still and forwards focused coach, if reds get a good new backs coach will be interesting next year. One big question I have though is would Brad swap to coach league at the...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2018

Grass roots rugby in premier is going great. Really enjoyable season and close finals await. Good for the guys who have been doing it all year to hold spots. Good opportunity for those other reds lads to be part of the Wallabies set up.

    Reds 2018

As for the cash advance, we know how tight the organisation is. This isn’t a surprise. They’ve had a shit draw with, what was it 6 weeks between home games earlier in the year? And then the June break with away games on the end. Footy clubs rely on games for cash flow. To pay salaries etc...
