Nz schools are struggling with participation numbers I believe and also big issues with some schools recruitment stacking teams. If coaches and selectors are doing their job well the cream gets the chance to rise to the top regardless of which school wins comp.

A lot easier to change or pick a club to get an opportunity than changing gps school. Some guys fill out some bulk as well after school and catch up quick.

They were good against Nudgee 15a and definitely will continue to develop and threaten, pretty sure not many from BSHS catchment. Depth might be an issue in opens. But good team, quality players well coached I thought.

I think Nudgee will deal with Ippy quite easily. Nudge defence will be far superior to other teams that Ipswich have faced thus far. Ipswich may struggle for a win again this season.

That is most of the problem with Foley though, his general play doesn’t determine outcome win or lose. Just consistently average.

GPS Schoolboy rugby are the best games all year, no where better than Ross Oval to watch. It’s like visiting an old girlfriend, makes you fall in love with the game all over again.

At this age most important that boys give the game a go. Sounds like a good idea.

Tough job and selections are always going to be questionable. So long as all kids get positive feedback on areas of thier game and goals to work on from coaches for improvement and then monitoring that improvement and being considered is all you can ask and is fair.
