    NSW AAGPS 2022

Hi All After watching the New v Scots 1sts game, I was fairly imprssed by both teams esp for 1st trial. New have experimented with some new backline positions. Worked ok and would like to see them play in the dry. Think they could use more speed out wide. As mentioned, the centre pairing played...

Hi chupapi It will be an interesting first game. Trails are trials but bragging rights for 1st round are up for grabs. Think Scots forwards will be ok but not sure about their backs. If they go young, it could be a learning experience. Wait and see !! Wyvernboy

Hi Hankspank Not knowing too much about either side I went with the home side. I did get a tip that Penrith was in the final. Barker 16's were only ok last year but as mentioned, 16's form is not always open form. Go the Oakhill boys !!

More Footbal teams. Buch has become Football only. Old boys and Johnson are Rugby only. 23 New Rugby teams which is pretty good at the moment. Hopefully stay that way.

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Back in the day, the Buch was used for Rugby/Football. The Oldboys far field was the main football field. Due to drainage issues on Old boys, main football field was moved to Buch oval freeing up the Old boys for Rugby only. Tempe was used for 14's Rugby teams but Football has moved a lot of...

HiBig Papi It is a shame that not all 15's and 16's can play on a full size field. Starting from 8am, the Johnson is full till 3.15pm. Open yr 12 teams I believe should take preferance as it's their last year playing. To be lucky enough to have the wide expanses of Lane Cove, Hunters Hill and...

15A's, 16A's and open age on Johnson Oval. 13's 14's on Old Boys. I think that's the right mix. All open teams should play on the main for their last season and 16a and maybe if fixtures allow 15a.

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Hi All New v Scots at New. 2nds at 2pm, 1st at 3.15pm. 16A's at 12pm all on Johnson Oval. All A games at most other games are at Newington. Teams out Friday. Should be a good first trial for both teams. Hope both school's coaches mix it up a little and let their squads play. Tip: Newington by...

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Hi Joker Hook, Line and Sinker Knew I'd get a response. Comment about "formula doesn't change at Hunter's Hill " was not meant as a negative but more an appreciation. You don't win 56 1st and 61 2nd by not doing something right. Joeys's do attack the 12/13 channel and do it better than most...

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Hi Love2Scrum Will be interesting to see what the coaches come up with in terms of combos. Joeys will target opposition,12, 13 to allow their 15 room to link with wingers. That's how they played in 80/90's when 12 and 15's father's were playing. The formula doesn't change at Hunter's Hill. New...

Hi Rippa With no trial games yet, predicting a starting Newington backline is a prediction. I don't like naming boys because they were in 1sts last year etc as there definately can be better options however I believe the coaches will go with this to start and make adjustments if/when needed...

Good team Dusk. Like the backline. Would have McGregor at 10, Townsend 13, McLean 11. If the backline can shift quick to wing/fback, plenty of tries. But giving McLean early ball is important so 13 might be ok too.Thoughts? Jorgensen 1,Ata 2,Maclean 3 will make a solid front row. There are a...

No worries BW. After a few lean seasons, let's hope this group of talented boys train hard, stay healthy and play with Wyvern Spirit. They have the potential but do they have the application ? Also, will be interesting to see what combinations the coaches select for the backline. See you on the...

Thanks Joker. Always like your posts. Agree. The forwards need to be "rugby" fit. I know they are really working hard as they realise this year is their big chance. Countering the quicker Joeys forwards will be key to securing good ball for the backs.

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Hi All First time poster, long time reader. My son is in Yr12 and after observing the current yr11/12 boys play from year 7, New will have a competitive squad. Backline will be very strong as most boys played 1st last year and have good combinations. Defence in the centres needs to improve but...
