Just looking to put this to bed. No one at Riverview is “enticed” to enrol. And to joker, Happy Father’s Day to you too, and all the other dads on the forum. Let’s have a day off talking about the enrolment programs at different GPS schools and enjoy what really matters - family. Cheers

Not a bad rendition at all Joker. But at risk of devolving this forum into a discussion group about the Scottish national anthem, I thought I’d throw my two cents in. I tend to prefer the rendition attached below, performed by Ronnie Browne along with a few bagpipers and 50,000 fired up Scottish...

Goodnight all. It’s been a great weekend of schoolboy footy - here’s to many happy returns.

I think most of us (maybe not Big Papi) are over the days of accusing other schools of handing out scho******ps or im****ing (I’m sure you can fill in the blanks). The way I see it, you can’t expect each age group to remain stagnant in ability and competitiveness from year to year. Of course...

Update from Stanmore: view win 55-22. No tantrums have been thrown...

My nephew is in that age group. Nothing special with the arrival of new boarders - view always takes in new boarders in year 10. The 16’s team is largely unchanged compared to earlier teams, the big change has been the coaching.

Now view 29-3 new at the half

Anyone know why the Newington 3rds don’t compete in the thirds competition? I caught snippets of Riverview 4ths beating Newington 3rds in a solid match.

I’ve heard there’s at least 2 year 10’s in the Newington firsts... impressive stuff

Cheers joker - hopefully all games tomorrow can go ahead as planned!

Anyone know much about Newington’s wet weather facilities? My boy is meant to be playing early in the morning on Johnson 1 but I’m a bit concerned about the forecast wet weather. Is anyone able to tell me whether or not they reckon the games will be on?

It’s stories like yours, Joker, that show us why we love the game so much. Some of my best mates are from teams I played against back in the 80’s. And yes, some of them were Joeys Boys. Let’s not let rivalries get between us footy heads and the true power of the game - there is no sport that...

Now, back to Rugby. as I’ve said before, I think Kings v Scots will be the match of the round. We’ve heard from a couple of people, but I’d be interested to see what everyone else predicts will unfold this weekend at north parramatta. Cheers.

Doesn’t that raise questions about Penisini, who played on the weekend? If I’m not mistaken, isn’t he also on an NRL contract?

Looking forward to your predictions Joker. Let me give you mine (no promises that they’ll come anywhere close to Joker’s!) Shore v Joeys: I can’t help but think it will be a tough weekend for the Shore boys. Despite lapses towards the back end of their match, Joeys were their usual clinical...

It’s pretty black and white to me. No spectators allowed other than officials and players (including reserves). There’s no way Kings needed the whole 2nd XV to back up for their 1’s. Also, if schools aren’t allowed choir performances at graduation ceremonies, how can they think it’s acceptable...
  18. The Metre Eater

    NSW AAGPS 2020

Agreed, rules are rules. Although I think home students should be able to spectate, until that is the agreed rule across all GPS schools, it is not fair that Kings students are able to watch the match, cheering and singing. Also, on a side note, some of the stuff I heard coming out of that...

    NSW AAGPS 2020

Fair enough. I was surprised to hear the volume of the crowd at Kings. It sounded like there were a lot of students watching... not sure how that works especially seeing as the Kings headmaster was publicly spearheading the movement to get the competition back up and running.

How’d you get the privilege of watching them in person? I’ve missed watching it in person!
