    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

According to the SJC fixtures for yesterday, there were 12 opens rugby teams and 6 opens football teams. So a sizeable amount for SJC, but rugby isn't going anywhere fast.

SJC is a long way off having more soccer teams than rugby, Riverview and Shore both have more in rugby but the gap is closing, Scots I think are about even and Newington and Kings both have far more in soccer.

Apart from Petterson (5), I wouldn't consider anyone to be particularly big. Fenn (8) and Rorke (6) are certainly an intimidating presence in the forwards but at their given positions, are fairly irrelevant at scrum time.

I don't think any GPS 1st XV side would boast any players that could be considered midgets... Purely from the anecdotal evidence of my observations, teams such as New and Joeys seem to have large tight fives. On both occasions I've watched them play, the View scrum has gotten the better of them.

The Under 19 scrum laws are not at all relevant to level of GPS 1st and 2nd XV. The laws are designed to prevent large packs from dominating at junior level, think Under 13's and below. The reality is that a large pack adds very little benefit to your scrum, as is evident by the dominance of the...

Curb your enthusiasm, we wouldn't want the backs to think they can play an important roll in this weekend's fixtures in the absence of torrential rain fall.

I've only seen Scots in preseason against Iggies, but this years competition is so even that any game can go either way.

It's a slippery slope. Before you know it I'll be indulging in a Sub Tuum and a Rower's Lot to boot.

Well, then we would be attacking religious beliefs vs. generic insults (if you wish to take it as that). One would certainly find it ironic though considering Grammar's motto is "Praise be to God".
