Actually I mentioned him just above- thought he had as good a game as that at Cranbrook.

Lee(& others) I was stirring the pot with my initial comments last night however I am still reasonably certain that NSW teams will not be GPS dominated as some previous observers have imagined. Lee, your review was astute(as usual) but I think a few of the other CAS boys deserved a mention...

Both responses don't disappoint me! Should be an interesting dayat Graeme Mapp Oval(Curragul) on Friday. Oh yeah CHS have 100s of schools.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2011

GPS 1s 34 defeated CAS 1s 19 in a see-sawing game. When one considers an 8 school group defeats a 6 school group the score is about right. Will be interested in comments from Lee Grant but I think a few reputations were damaged this evening. It will be a much more `cosmopolitan' team than our...

Done Lee Grant(or other moderator) The above comments are blatently libelous -new junior member should be `told'!

Which CAS teams have you seen to base it being `a fairly weak CAS year'. As far as Clark is concerned- he may not even play this year. Hopefully he will but he will be giving everyone else a big start.

Nice sunny afternoon @ College Oval, Willoughby( although it's not oval shaped!); Knox a bit slow out of the blocks and trailed 13-12 at lemons. They drew away in the 1st stanza of 2nd half and won the game: Knox 33 Aoys 20

Under lights @ KGI: *Joeys 26(4 tries) defeated Knox 17(3 tries) in the 1st Xv fixture. The winners benefitted from a tigerish (but small) forward pack that outbustled Knox in the 1st half. They attacked the Knox lineout, winning the first 4 of Knox throw-ins. In the backs their full-back &...

You're right- it was Clark running water- though I spoke to a few Knox insiders I didn't get any info on dates for comebacks. I'll be in Bathurst this Saturday to see Junior(my son) turn out for Charles Sturt Uni but will get to the Joeys game on Monday

Interesting how you go to the same match as someone else and pick up on different things. A few observations from today's Knox vs Newington game: * 2nd Xv game was of a poor standard- not sure how many were out for either side, but it would appear neither School has a lot of depth. Knox...

    Shute Shield 2011

Agree- should have said 2008, where Knox was undefeated CAS premiers in both 1s and 2s- they had great depth that year.

    Shute Shield 2011

Ventured down to Chatswood Oval-regular downpours throughout the afternoon. Gordon would be very happy, winning 4 out of 4! Very solid wins in 2s & 3s and they looked the goods during 1st half of 1s. Scored 4 tries in the 1st half but seemed to relax in 2nd half and let the Rats back into game...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

Would love to know who they were? Did yhey end up going to Knox and who made the `offer' I have been a part of the Knox sporting community for 20+ years- vey involved in the Knox `Blacl & Blue Rugby' committee- as far as I am concerned there are no sporting scholarships under any guise at Knox...

    NSW Rugby obvservations

Travel-wise, Central West would be just as feasible as Canberra. Central West 1st Division run a 10 Club Comp., comrising 3 Open grades + Colts. Fairly strong competition- Country Week is already over and Central West Opens lost to Newcastle in a semi but their Colts won the Country Carnival!

Schoolboy 1st XV overage player proposal...

Having been involved with Knox Rugby for over 8 years I find it very hard to believe that they would be pushing for such an exemption for 1 particular player. I have never known any players there to repeat years for Rugby reasons- no-one has been involved in Pathways at the School.

    NSW Country Championships - Lismore

Noted that Newcastle-Hunter have retained their Country Champiobnship title following Championships held in Lismore over the weekend. Also interesting to note that Central West won the Colts title, after eliminating Newcastle in the semi and then coming from behind to defeat Illawarra in the final.
