Wales vs Australia, 5 November 2016, (1:30am 6 November AEDT) @ Millenium Stadium

In context though. This is assuming Pocock is out. Also against Scotland whose strength is the lineout and kicking. So IMO you need 4 lineout options. I would not start Pooper nor have McMahon at 6 or 8. So you could start Fardy at 6 and for balance should with Hooper at 7. However I would...

true but cheika should never have given douglas a game until he was fit after such a long lay off.

Agree start Simmons at 6 then when Arnold comes off move him to lock and bring on Fardy or Mumm to 6.

Also nice to see the backs are used as backs and forwards for in tight and getting over the line. Hooper plays as a 7 as a support runner (and link player) letting the more highly skilled backs make the initial breaks.

just as happy to have a good 6 come along and keep Timani at 8. My point is a good 6 or 8 is needed with Timani a must as a starter at either 6 or 8.

I agree about a sour taste in terms of Coleman, Arnold and Timani. (and Kerevi). All performed in super rugby very well last year and this year. Timani and Kerevi were exceptional last year and should have been included in the RC and then probably onto the RWC. This year from the 1st test...

The only real weak link remains 6. Short term ok if Fardy returns back to form, but he is not young. Next year need Higgs or Holloway or NCR no 8(sp?) to step up and allow Timani to go to 6.

I found the BeIN broadcast better quality than the ones in the Rugby Championship. They show replays from more angles, distances and you see things you would not pick up otherwise. Also the commentary is better than all the SANSAAR ones. Finally the analysis during breaks is far superior...

Trouble is Douglas misses a lot of tackles, and his work rate is too low for an impact player, he should do a lot more if he is on for only 20 mins.

    1) Brynes skill work is showing in the forwards. They are running, drawing defenders and passing. In the backs that is a given, but what has really improved is their kicking. Short deft kicks and finally ones for Folau and DHP to contest in the air. 2) As said by many the highlight for me is...

agree The technical analysis from Harrison was so good. I said to my wife I never knew he was so smart. Makes fox and indeed the NZ and SA ones on matches look poor.

I too would have included Morohan but instead of Speight. For one thing he can kick the ball , if DHP gets hurt Wallabies have no winger with a decent boot.

I disagree, I would have chosen Naivalu. Given him a chance starting. He is very quick so he could easily run around Cuthbert. He is a better defender than Speight IMO.

What tactics do people expect the 2 teams will use? Against NZ the Wallabies looked for gaps near and around the ruck. They also hit it up with the big men Coleman, Timani and Arnold getting over the advantage line. Against Wales I expect the attack to focus wider out in the centres. The...

By only being solid at everything not very good at anything. So they get rated a journeyman i.e solid but nothing more. You need to be more specific and name a player for more detailed discussion.

as a complete 10? He started 10 tests as a 10 and 10 tests as a 12. However most of those tests as a 10 was because Larkham was injured. I considered him more an i/c than 10. As a 10 he lacked running ability, and creative vision IMO to be considered a complete 10.

Wales vs Australia, 5 November 2016, (1:30am 6 November AEDT) @ Millenium Stadium

QC (Quade Cooper) was close to Larkham before his knee injury. That was when he had a very threatening running game, fast and agile and good stepper. Combined with his passing and visions for the game he was a similar player. He has lost that running game so is less of a threat since that allows the...

On the subject of complete 10's for australia there have been very few. Larkham was not he did not kick goals. Gits lacked playmaking ability and vision. Barnes would be the most complete of recent times. He was solid in everything but not great at anything, he was very good at goal...

I never stated that either Gits or Barnes for that matter were good 10's. I said they were more complete than Foley where the claim was Foley was the most complete 10 since Larkham. You see I avoided the QC (Quade Cooper) Foley comparison until you brought it up.
