Is there any merit in playing an interstate 'club championship' after the Syd, Bris and Canberra comps wrap up for the year?
Imagine the top 3 teams from Syd (e.g. Newcastle, Norths & Randwick at the moment) and Bris (e.g Bond, Easts & Wests), and the top 2 from Canberra (e.g Tuggeranong &...
Yes probably a very smart move by Goddard. I suspect Lonergan will start next year but I think if anyone can bring the best out of Goddard it will probably be the Brums who are a bit like the Melb Storm and make a habit of making 50/50 players into very solid players.
Not a Tah regular but people seem to have a fair wrap on him. The Tahs have just lost a bit of depth for next year. Obviously Max J is our pick at 15 but we don't really have too many other options. Who else is around in the Shute Shield that play the back-up roll?
EDIT: Maybe Will Harrison can...
I discovered that last week. I was talking to a View old boy, now 96, who was telling me they used to play the Royal Military College, Hawkesbury, and Waverley. He was interested to hear about modern day GPS rugby (esp last weeks combined GPS games) which he wasn’t followed for years. It’s so...
I don't think we can blame Waugh for missing out on Razor or anyone else for that matter .....he doesn't start in his role as CEO until July 6th!! Might be a bit early on the blame game there rodha! ;)
Yes Harris is behind Gleeson and Swinton for the 6/8 role and Gamble is our obvious 7, and likely Ward as backup. I worry we are an injury / suspension or 2 away from looking very thin on backrow options. I'm a bit puzzled as to why the Tahs wouldn't have tried a bit harder to keep Harris. Who...
I agree. Harris is a strong player and if we want to have depth in our squad we really needed to hang onto a player like him. He was a very solid 6/8 option and I worry we might be getting a bit thin there now esp without Seu, and with Swinton being a injury / suspension liability.
I like your run down Ghost. A couple of things:
1. I hope Wilson and Dowling will provide the right cover. They make me nervous because they are largely untried.
2. Flyhalf is a concern. I thought Donaldson was the man but the Pasifika game certainly changed my mind. I'm hoping Edmed or Bowen...
I used to fly into WA a good deal for work and we often joked WA was 2 hours and 20 years behind the eastern states. Your prediction of a 'Potenital 2014 Force XV' suggests we were half right!! :) :)
Only Tahs players that deserve to be anywhere a TOTW this week are Hooper and Pietsch.
A couple of others tried hard but if they are to make a TOTW the other Aussie sides must have gone badly!
