Fox will pay whatever they need to to keep the league. The alternative is losing a massive number of subscribers and stuffing up their entire business. I really don't see them taking this option. That would be more like an ARU decision than a business one. Fox will make the business decision.

Anyone who thinks Foxtel won't now pay overs for the league coverage, I have some nice marsh land for sale if you are interested.

I think we need far more than that. Real structural change in the game. Relying on the spasmodic exploits of the national team is too hit and miss as recent experience shows.

The main question is what can we do as a sport to improve TV ratings, which have been slipping this year and seem to be on a dangerous downward trajectory compared to other sports?
