John I. Dent Cup 2017 - ACT Premier Rugby

Only managed to make the 2nd half but the score was already 24-7 or the likes. I hadnt seen either team before ,but expected a much improved Wests and a redhot Royals. Hard to gauge therefore, if this was the "good " Wests side or not, they certainly had their moments. Likewise, dont know if...

20 Players!!!...that's phenomenal this early in the season. However with their 2nds travelling nicely and some good colts as you mention, whites are perhaps not in such dire straights. While personally Ive never highly rated the Fianga twins, its always good to see rep players back in club games.

Pretty accurate breakdown No8,but might give Royals a few more points. Confidence breeds confidence, so I'll go for Royals by 40. You mentioned Tuggers possibly rotating players should they get away early. They did this well the other week against the Whites, but previously have been really...

This thread has discussed the issue before and offered a number of possibilities. Maybe the questions should therefore, be "what have Easts already done " in attempting to gain short-term success and long-term survival. As mentions Easts a club with good culture and a proud history. Those in...

yeah Istanbul...Ive sorta re-assessed my view on Kotz. He is quick but not Lightning. Apart from that, he doesn't show much and modern wingers need more than just pace. Watched him with the Brumbies 7's squad at the end of last year where in a format that should suit him, he failed to impress...

Great day and pretty good game at Nichols. Eagles came out fast. A lot of possession for the 1st 20 mins but made no real dent. Kotz intercept made it 7-0 however. Vikings came back with 2 tries to end 1/2 time 14-7. Sinoti was busy and used alot close to the ruck. Dobson bro's were good as was...

Geez No8, thought you had left us there for a while having not seen any postings. Had similar winners and points as you but wasn't falling into the trap of posting my predictions to early until I'd sighted the team lists. Royals are on fire. Easts however have restricted their opponents to 40...

While I agree that its cumbersome for the Ref to engage in stopping the game in order to have lengthy discussions so as to justify his decision and /or inform the players. Ive always been a fan however, and I think what macka meant, of the Ref talking through his decisions on the run and...

Macka...whats the general thought around Suavai's return and his best position. Previous to last season he was a 15 then last year played pretty much the entire year at 13. This year it appears he wants the fullback spot again. Personally, I've always viewed him as a solid player without...

Yes, Big Congrats Macka...hope your bub, he or she, plays for Australia. The term "experienced" tends to get bandied around a lot, but as the Whites showed us on Saturday, its not always beneficial. This thread has touched on the subject quite often, but when does a coach start trusting in the...

In saying this, wonder if the Tuggers coaches are brave enough to keep the same side next week and beyond, and build on this young team. I wonder if the fly in-fly out nature of brumbies players is necessarily a good thing, as well as returning players from injury...Ernest comes to mind.

I have to admit that after posting my early tips, I was tempted to adjust them when reading the team-lists. Felt for sure that the whites experience would get the better of the Vikings . Was critical at times last year of Vikings coaching staff not using young guys and subs during games, and to...

Yeah Istanbul, really hard to know what to make of the whites today. They appeared to have plenty of possession and pretty much a similar team to last year. However, they looked simply clueless and appeared to lack any penetration or flair. Hard to single out a standout as the scoreline...

I reckon that bye-weeks should be banned...they're not healthy for the psychological well-being of jaded old supporters. My tips for the resumption of JID....be warned , I picked the Brumbs to get rolled by the Rebs on the w'end so I'm on a roll. What do you make of Gungahlin?, a good win...
