View vs Kings preview: GAME OF THE ROUND As the days tick over it's nearly that time of the week again. Another Saturday of GPS rugby. This Saturday the ever-so-diligent Kings School will take the field at Gowan Brae to verse the Jesuits in a game that will see a team carry on their undefeated...

What criteria do you think selectors use in order to come to terms with their decisions when, as you said, there are so many deserving players in such a heavily contested position like the back row?

A great example of Jack Bowen (OR2021). Played GPS 2nds now playing first grade for Easts and debuted for the Waratahs.

Kings 9 is also a contender based on form.

What are people's tips for this weekend's fixtures?

Honestly, I find schoolboy rugby games much more enjoyable than Super Rugby Games. Better free-flowing rugby. Better crowds. Better rivalry and an overall better atmosphere. I agree @Joker, schoolboy rugby games should remain at their respective colleges.

What is the reason for starting him this season in the 5ths rather than straight into the 2nds?

I have only heard great things about Harry Harrington. He is a big unit and a great recruit that is a great asset to the Scots College for the next two seasons.

Report from Scots: “The 1st XV, after a tough loss to Riverview on the weekend, would firstly like to thank Riverview for their hospitality. We also send our thoughts to the male who was injured during the 2nd XV fixture - to what looked like to be a major concussion. We also send regards to all...

Well said @Reasoning . Interesting too see how this weekend plays out.

Yes I hope they do release them soon. Last years game seemed to have quite the spectacle with the game being a “one-off game at Leichhardt” and so many Old Boys reunions taking place that weekend. I wonder what attendance numbers we should expect this year considering it’s now it’s second year...

I agree. Happens too much too often. Especially before big games.

I also believe that based on current form View's 9 is also a major contender for the halfback position. Despite Hwi Sharples being pretty much a given by most I wouldn't turn a blind eye to other halfbacks in the competition.

I'm not sure if other schools were in similar positions but I noticed on Saturday that Riverview's 15B's played St Patrick's 15A's. Great game however Riverview lost by about 5. Don't quote me but I think the score was 19-24 in favour of St Patrick's.

I totally agree @paul bristow . Rugby union is a game for gentlemen, not grubby league antics and ways. It loses pride in the town and junior clubs when people start to 'import' and 'pay players' and not display their successful development pathways. You could translate this to schoolboy...

The youngins can be really helpful and deliver many insights as long as they don't take the micky out of the forum.

Had the privilege to watch the Scots vs View game yesterday down at the Cove. Was a great game as well as a really good turnout. Always a spectacle to watch the footy on the hill and hear the View boys 'war-cries' echo throughout Lane Cove. Scots struggled to face up to the View boys despite...
