    Sarel Pretorius coming home?

Yeah, my understanding is that the Tahs will release him if he can get another gig.

Wallaby Backrow - The Way Forward?

So is Ben Mowen. Higgers is 25.

    Genia's Yellow

Do we really need another Richie McCaw thread?

Disco player ratings Bledisloe 2 Auckland

Thought Sharpe was not more than a 4. Silly penalties, errors, no real drive. A very different Sharpie to last week.

Wallaby Backrow - The Way Forward?

Touché. Dennis and Higgers were the two form non-fetchers after Palu.

Stuff the scrum coach. Let's get a bloody kicking and catching coach

I couldn't agree more, TOCC. Absolute no brainer.

Wallaby Backrow - The Way Forward?

Higgers and Dennis are both 6s, so I think ultimately only one of them will be in contention. It's unfortunate that Deans seems to select the best individual back rowers (at least on Super Rugby form) rather than look for balance. I'm happy with Timani staying at TH lock for this season... But Horwill...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 Argentina vs South Africa - 25 August

Unfortunately, it means the Wallabies will probably beat the Bokke and that will be used as a sufficient excuse to keep Deans around. Could be some bad rugby when the two nations play...

    The ranting at Deans/ARU/O'Neill/Players thread

Gnostic, it might be time to walk away from the keyboard for a while. Barely coherent is correct. It ain't the fans fault and it ain't the fault of anyone on this forum either.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

That stat Fox put up with a few minutes to go was telling: off loads 2-25.

    Hooper vs Gill

Yeah, don't get the criticism of Gill. He played with a lot of guts and passion. Not much more you can ask of anyone in those circumstances.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

I'll save the match comments for later... But seeing Beale and Cooper having a laugh with Dagg and SBW after the match just shits me. Compare that to the gutted forwards, Squeaky in his interview, Hooper looking destroyed... You just lost 22 to nil you muppets. Tell your mates on the ABs to...

G&GR Wallaby Player of the Year: v NZL (Eden Park)

    3. Hooper (maybe most impressive was how absolutely gutted he looked after the match) 2. Timani (started out strong, faded a bit late) 1. Moore

The TV Broadcasting of Australian Rugby

It really depends how the different rights are valued and what the market actually is for access. The NFL online access actually got cheaper this last season, for example, which tells you how uncertain everyone is on how to do this stuff.

The TV Broadcasting of Australian Rugby

WJ, agree totally, but old media entities are having to adapt fast... but seem so set on being defensive that they don't innovate fast enough. Anyway, as you say, a debate for another thread. I, for one, don't have Foxtel because I like being married, but I would definitely pay to get legal...

The TV Broadcasting of Australian Rugby

I don't think he's saying the process is simple, just that tv networks aren't getting this right despite the obviousness of the dynamic at play. Look what happened to the big music labels - don't the networks see that they're next against the wall?

The TV Broadcasting of Australian Rugby

Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am* stuck in the middle with a delayed fucking broadcast. * Well, not literally 'me', but hey.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

If we wanted to look for a faint silver lining in Pocock's injury, it's that Genia is a better captain. Pocock is no doubt an inspirational player, but I like how much Genia talks, how he directs players around the park, and how he works the ref.

    Waratahs 2013

Davis certainly sounds impressive. The proof will be in the pudding, but I'm cautiously optimistic with this first major appointment. I like that he's only been on the board since June -- brand new might have been better, but at least he's not too institutionalised.

Calling a Quade a Quade and a spade a spade

This might be the first time I've seen people reflexively, if only implicitly, defend Deans since the RWC. Maybe it's Gatland's fiendish plot to rally support behind Dingo and thereby keep him around until 2013, ensuring that his Lions face inept selections, no game plan, and a team...
