    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Cheika does not rotate players as a rule. He sticks once he has found what he is looking for. Look at the tahs he played the same players week in week out. He does the same at the wallabies. Mainly injuries and unavailability cause him to change. The exceptions have been the locks whilst he...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

I know the difference. If I say kicking game I mean kicking game. Otherwise I would say 10 man rugby. The RWC QF wasn't even in the wet but they played a great game keeping Aust pinned in their half to exploit the weakness poor exit kicking. Pocock was missed in the rucks, no ball turned...

Additionally IMO in a wet game Pocock adds more value than Hooper.

I would be equally happy to have Kerevi, Kuridrani as the 12 and 13 and move Hodge to wing or f/b.

They do in the wet. Laidlaw a lot of box kicks that are contested and they will kick for the line deep in australia's half. This link shows an interactive that you can look at where all the lineouts were. Australia's in their half with most in the 22, scotlands around the halfway mark. So...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

It is not madness. The previous starting team has a serious lineout deficiency and the game will be in the wet. Minimum change is Fardy at 6. Since it is wet I would retain Pocock at 7 and Hooper to bench. Hooper needs rest and rotation anyway. Genia has been in better form than Phipps...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

There is no doubt in my mind Cheika will start Foley and Cooper on the bench. Reward 2 strong games I understand that. If I disregard that and consider the opposition and the wet conditions it is more interesting. Normally if it was wet I would just choose QC (Quade Cooper) over Foley because he has a...

Disagree strongly. Wales had a weak lineout , lost their linout organiser, and Warburton a genuine lineout option. So against weak lineouts sure. Scotland has a very strong lineout, and play a kicking game. Remeber Highlanders Tahs? Eng, NZ nad SA exploiting Pooper because they have strong...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Cooper would make even more of all the runners in motion than Foley. Foley runs well and gets the backs on the front foot by running forwards first making the backs follow. Coopers strength is looking for gap or hole runs and passing it right to them. If there are so many runners in...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

True but Moriaty and Tipuric at 188 cm are not tall (for jumpers) and neither are good or strong lineout options. Timani at 193 cm is the same height as Lydiad

Good point. Yes Fardy and Pocock are similar and it is not as balanced. Just like Mumm and Hooper are similar and not as balanced :) Fardy and Pocock are hard on the ball and are ruck monkeys. Mumm and Hooper run around a lot and attempt a lot of tackles. In seriousness in a lot of cases I...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

It is going to be wet. Scotlands strength is lineout and kicking. The game won't be as free flowing. However to reward players for good win need balance number of changes Need 4 lineout jumpers. Fardy at 6. Pocock is going to be ok, in the wet Pocock. Against Scotland in the QF wallabies...

Lee - Timani just needs to step sideways a little bit to hit the defense at an angle , then add the power as you say in those 2 steps and he will break tackles instead of just run over them to get over the ad line.

Wales vs Australia, 5 November 2016, (1:30am 6 November AEDT) @ Millenium Stadium

ForceFan - Thanks. If I look at the total involvements, ruck, carry and tackle some players are immense. Pocock in half the time for 80 mins had the most 68. Fardy matched this too but he knew he was only playing one half. Arnold with 48 for 68 mins comes to 56 for 80. Hooper has 55 for 80...

Wales vs Australia, 5 November 2016, (1:30am 6 November AEDT) @ Millenium Stadium

Hooper was a good link man, with good work rate. What was good was he acted as a support runner for the backs instead of being a main runner, so let the backs do their thing and then either protect the ball or be there in support for a pass. Why he was not sighted much he didn't do dominant...

Wales vs Australia, 5 November 2016, (1:30am 6 November AEDT) @ Millenium Stadium

Disagree. The statement was long distance whilst running. KB (Kurtley Beale) has a weak pass to his right, can only pass long to his left. To'omua has a long pass but needs to pivot to execute it , so he can't do it whilst running. CLL can.

Totally disagree with this. Folau passed 11 times none of them poor. TK passed 6 times. Did you miss the pass Folau gave to Hodge for his try?

The wallabies have been found wanting using the pooper against teams with good lineouts. They exploited that weakness. Wales couldn't because they played 2 opensiders. Struggling to win your own lineout is a recipe for disaster, you can't even get the advantage from penalties then. They...
