Yep, and that's a good initiative (particularly when the parents of the younger kids go too). I guess we're talking about grade players going along in numbers to support their mates. The ground was only a quarter full. Granted it was a SA opponent and last years performances hardly helped, but I...

Super Rugby Round 3, 2018 - Sharks vs Waratahs @ Durban

I thought I read somewhere that Kepu has a calf injury and that's why he's not going.

Great ideas. How about a ticket to all registered players in NSWRU, both juniors and seniors. Ground was only a quarter full yet atmosphere was great. Imagine 20k supporters. The WAFL proudly (rightly) promotes a 57k sell out, but they only charge $2 a ticket. Just a few thoughts

The article says he's still going says he's going to Brisbane with the team to fulfil his promotional ambassador duties, whether he was ever going to play is another matter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Second 3rd. It really isn't an indicator of the season. We dont know how many, if any changes from both sides were made after we led 10-7 at 1/3 time but got smashed in the second. And most of the first string players were rested. I agree with others that it would be interesting to know how the...

The NRL have got no problems with signing players like Charlie Rourke, Tom Wright and Angus Crichton straight out of school. We're in a competitive market Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This year Maclean Jones, Kelly Meafua and Nick Palmer spring to mind. Why is having no Super Rugby past an attraction at 24? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You make it sound like we sign schoolboys on a regular basis. The majority of the new signings are 20-24. With a squad of 40, a lot of the squad won't make game day 23 and are contracted on development contracts to prepare them for when the incumbents move on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes they are full time, but there are different tiers of contracts. I don't know exact current figures, but a few years ago a Supplementary Squad contract was about $700 per week EPS contract a bit over $50K and full contract minimum in the mid $80K. They've recently had a pay rise, but the...

The young blokes are signed on development contracts and paid a fraction of full Super contract. The idea is to sign them now and develop them for the near future, otherwise they'd bugger of to another franchise, OS or NRL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Shute Shield 2018

A lot of both Dave, but I see that as the SSs role now..developing players for higher honours. I really hate the lack of opportunities in Australian Rugby forcing players OS but I suppose a SS contract won't pay the bills Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Shute Shield 2018

The player points system was meant to spread the love, and there appears to be a more even distribution in 1st grade recently. But it's not just the clubs, players need to be willing to travel to Penrith to play, and that's bound to encounter resistance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
