    Western Force 2017

Same goes for those of us from Qld and NSW, sadly.

    Reds 2017

No games in Sydney next season. Sad face.

    Refereeing decisions

    True. Or their contracts.

    Refereeing decisions

Ok, 'nearly identical' was a stretch, but union's and league's laws are of similar complexity. Bit of a worry when professionals don't read the law book for the game they intend on making a living from.

    Refereeing decisions

League has nearly identical rules regarding dead ball/touch in goal.

    Wallabies v Springboks - Suncorp, Brisbane, 10th September 2016

Maybe he should focus on being the first Reece Hodge. ;)

And sometimes when completely uncalled for.

    Refereeing decisions

Law 19.5 (b) If a player with one or both feet on or beyond the touch-line (or touch-in-goal line), picks up the ball, which was in motion within the playing area, that player is deemed to have picked up the ball in touch (or touch-in-goal). So if QC (Quade Cooper) picked the ball up, it's treated as if the...

    Refereeing decisions

I remember QC (Quade Cooper) having one foot in TIG, and the ball still moving. What I don't recall is whether he picked the ball up first, or grounded it. If he picked it up, then it's TIG off the kicker. If he grounded it, it's a 22m restart.

Dismal Pillock can't be expected to contribute to every single thread on this forum, given that he probably also does so in various NZ Rugby forii, as well as the multitude of Japanese grot porn boards on the information superhighway. Sometimes you are needed to shoulder the stock image burden...

    Wallabies v Springboks - Suncorp, Brisbane, 10th September 2016

I keep watching the opposition's clearing kicking and wonder 'why can't we kick like that?' That said, that checkside kick to put SA on the back foot in the last play of the game was superb, and our subsequent chasing and pressure was also excellent. Our timing in attack was still off. A few...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

This. With an emphasis on disciplined defence and not pushing passes. It's the stuff of junior coaching. Keep realigning (fitness!), keep your shape in defence, and keep the opponent's line honest when in attack. Wait for the gaps and overlaps open up, or for the opposition cough the pill...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

And also, looking back in this thread, I note some interest in discussing player development in the schoolboy system. My first observation is that I'd be intrigued to see how the ARU can align the schools' interests with its own; as has already been pointed out, the schools' core business is...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2016

Well done to BSHS on their big win today. The premiership match can be a banana skin, and there's no such thing as an easy match against Southport in this day and age. Great effort!

Australia Needs to get better at pressuring referees

The referee is not the chairman of a tribunal, the speaker of the legislative assembly, or the commissioner of taxation. He or she is a sports adjudicator. They are making split second judgements in a complex environment, often whilst sprinting. A rugby field is not a marketplace of ideas...

Fuck guys, this whinging is a bad look. This is getting as bad as 'Susie'.

Bledisloe 2 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, Wellington, 27 August 2016

Let's not forget that the head coach was suffering from a brain tumour.

Bledisloe 2 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, Wellington, 27 August 2016

I hate referee bashing, but Poite was pretty ordinary tonight, especially around certain aspects of fould play, and the breakdown penalties in the New Zealand red zone in the 1st half. That said, that nost certainly did not cost us the game.

Bledisloe 2 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, Wellington, 27 August 2016

Comprehensively beaten. And again, it's all in the things that one would expect professional players to have a grasp of (apologies to Burke, M.). The alignment of the backline is not at test level. We can't adapt to turnovers or line breaks - either for or against us. We can't capitalise on...
