He's been in the CEO role a few months and on the Board before that. To the best of my knowledge he wasn't out blowing the bugle ad nauseam like those other two clowns.

I did appreciate PWaugh's measured comments about the situation and more generally. They've frankly been a breath of fresh air after all the bluster from Hammer and EJ (Eddie Jones) over the last 12 months.

I'm disappointed in Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase)'s departure but as Derp so eloquently pointed out, he's walking from a dysfunctional employer after performing well personally. He owes them nothing.

All of that is true but it's the cost of a national competition. As I said earlier, I'm OK with the first step being NSW and QLD teams playing each other as the start of a third tier, but also think it would be a retrograde step for the sport more generally if it were to only ever be that.

I'd be on board with a third tier comp being NSW/QLD only if there was a clear pathway to other states joining in at a defined later point.

Sorry, I should have stated it differently: people may know who the individuals are as people (Goyder, Baird), but how many know they hold those chair positions?

On the other hand, does the public even know who the Chair of CA is? Or even the AFL?

One of the worst rent seeking fat cats in the history of Australian sport

Andy Friend as a candidate for DoR?

A mate who was over in Canberra last week said he had dinner with someone pretty well connected to the Brumbies organisation and it appears that Hammer is under a bit of pressure right now.

    Wallabies 2024

That's the question for me. At his best he's dynamite in attack but the errors just kill us at inopportune times. Cut that out and he's an automatic starter.

Yep, get a new DoR in place and then start recruiting the national head coach and assistants.

Yep, there was a generation of potentially great Wallabies who for various reasons didn't always scale the heights or at least not at the same time. Imagine Genia, Cooper, Beale and JOC (James O'Connor) combining with AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Mitchell and Gits and all of them on the same page as their coach(es) at the same time...

It's a tough one with employee/player behaviour and how much you tolerate. Individuals can be brilliant at their jobs but some come into the category of brilliant jerks. When things are going really well you may tolerate it for a bit, but when it goes the opposite way they can become a cancer...

Campo is as much of a blowhard flog as EJ (Eddie Jones)

Hammer strikes me as the type I've met in business many times: not always right but never ever in doubt.

There are abundant examples of underperforming Boards and Executive groups getting more rope or time than they should. Fortunately in private enterprise they often get the bullet if profitability drops enough.

So other than Bernie, who is a realistic candidate? I don't want Cheika back, been there done that.
