He was unlucky. Had a ripper of a season in 2022, but had in-form Kerevi and Paisami infront of him and then as you said. Got his chance and got injured. Funny because if he was still around, would definitely been given another shot this year.

Even by the virtue of supporting the team from your local area?

So you're saying, If we had national third tier of clubs, which had pros playing in it. You would not take any interest in it whatsoever? What do we work with instead then? We've tried the NRC, which was a fail. So what avenues are left?

He said schoolkids have little interest, as someone most likely closer to school age to him, I know he is wrong. I'm not the one who bought it up.

Fair enough. EDIT: but lets be honest, if you didn't go to a "rugby school" and you're already interested in Rugby, you defintely have a connection or live in area represented by a premier club.

I agree, that why I said earlier in terms of players development, logistics and finance a Super Rugby A comp works better.

I dont think club rugby is the messiah to take us to the promised land. I just think it has more legs as a competition, to drive fan engagment than a Super Rugby "A" competition.

As someone which is assuredly younger than you, I can tell you, you're wrong.

You don't think so? I truly reckon we would. From people who are Rugby fans, but have other rugby commitments on their saturdays, if they didnt have those they would defintely be going to go watch some prems. I remember as a schoolboy, we would be interested in Easts down the road, but a lot of...

By marketing I mean the framing of the competition, I guess the branding. Make it a spectacle and highlights the local nature of the teams, with pros and amatuers/semi-pros playing against eachother. I'm just spitballing here, I obvsly dont have a fully thought out plan. And as I said before...

The reason the prem games barely get any crowd is because the already quaint Sydney rugby scene is split across 3 different rugby scenes already on a saturday at 3pm.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Yeah I don't watch and many people I know don't watch who would, because they have other sport commitments in the world of rugby union itself and other sports. Coaching or involved with schools rugby, refreeing, subbies etc. If it had the correct marketing behind it, I think it would be a hit...

If premier grade had all of the fringe tahs and wallabies and played interstate games. it defintely would have much more interest. I barely watch any prem games now, but in this period now if they where played and had a couple of pro players versing the best brisbane had to offer, id be there...

For this concept of a third-tier you guys are proposing, is the purpose just for development of players? Or is it to drive fan interest? because if we have stale "Waratahs A" sides no one going to be watching that. No one barely even watches the 1st team. If run with premier grade clubs (yes i...

Not sure about you guys but ive rather watch a national club comp, rather than super rugby a teams, from a fans perspective. however from a financial and pure game development pov, a super rugby au is definitely better.

Wait so you're saying NRL jnr participation is larger in WA than union?

Kerevi hasn't been the same since the ACL. That 20/21 season he was geniunely one of the best inside centres in the world for a bit.
