Waratahs Blues Sunday 24th March, SFS

I'm pretty happy with that side. I like that Cheika is rotating and testing the squad. This alone is a huge difference from the Hickey/Foley regime, when top players were ground into the dirt and no one was accountable.

I might even pay more for my membership if this actually works.

Ewen McKenzie - Life after the Reds

HPU is conceivable as a last-resort option. Why would he want a Super 15 job? He's got one now. Why would he take the Rebels? Unless he turned the franchise into a finals contender in short order, he'd be tarnishing his reputation.

Not to mention that AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is vice-captain. Presumably Dennis cleared that with the big boss before offering it to him.

I'd be keen to see some innovative ticketing initiatives. For instance, start tickets off cheaper than the standard price so that if you buy early, you get rewarded. Then provide targeted offers or freebies in the days before the game (à la Hugh's ideas). That way you reward loyalty, lock in a...

Maybe it's a straw broom you've got, not a straw man. Couldn't see it properly when you're waving it about like that.

    Waratahs 2014

This business of a wholesale clean-out is something of straw man. How many have seriously argued that this is what will happen? As someone who has sympathy for Chieka in not having had much personnel input, I have never expected more than 6-10 players to turnover for next year. Playing squads...

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) re-signing is good, although I hope they didn't pay too much for him. He's a bloody good player, but has not had memorable games in sky blue.

Ewen McKenzie - Life after the Reds

Why on earth would he go to the Rebels? The only step up for Link is to coach test match rugby.

Take the half-time entertainment money and spend it on having more bar staff.

To those who decide Aussie player of the Round

A side topic, but it would be really good to get some advanced statistics on rugby so that we had more data who performed best in the most important circumstances and whose actions impacted points scored or defended most.

It was only being on Australian soil that gave him the necessary inspiration.

    Wallabies Watch

Isn't it a bit of a Southern Hemisphere approach to trade off scrummaging and around the park play? Against Lions, I would say that it's essential that we have the strongest scrum possible. We simply cannot risk being dominated in that aspect of the game.

Ewen McKenzie - Life after the Reds

Deans' failure to bring out the passion of the Wallabies has more to do with the gibberish that comes out of his mouth than whether he's a Kiwi.

Not to state the bleeding obvious, but the very fact that a Lions tour comes around once every 12 years is why it matters so much.

    Waratahs 2013

Sorry, but that's just not correct. White started months earlier and had very few Wallabies away on EOYT, which meant he had more of his squad available much earlier. Maybe Cheika should be doing better, but lets at least get the facts straight. Look, it's 4 games. The hand-wringing might be a...
