Reds vs Waratahs - 29th April RD 10

To be fair I'd also rather he smashes cocaine on the weekends over him smashing beers. A bag on Saturday night? Generally well-behaved and alert, semi-euphoric and serotonin-levels low on Sunday but nothing that'll have a lasting impact throughout the week. 12+ beers on Saturday night...

Mate I look forward to be alongside you, arm-in-arm (virtually), bagging the ref come the international season. Deep down we all know we do it.

If the ref was better the Reds would've won. If the Reds scored more points than the Tahs they would've won. If my uncle had tits he'd be my aunty. They didn't adjust to the ref / conditions and thats that.

George Kruis, Joe Launchbury, Maro Itoje and Johnny Gray are up there with the best second rowers in the world and are all the same height (198/199cm depending on where you look). Its simply not too small. But alas, this'll be the last post I make on it.

Exactly. Not all games have to be jail-break, basketball-pop-passes, side-to-side, end-to-end rugby simply to be enjoyable. Some of the best games I've ever watched weren't.

Well power to you TOCC but don't be surprised if those who willing chose to watch the game and who are subsequently posting in the game thread enjoy the game for reasons different to your own. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that.

Again, I really enjoyed it. First half with a lot of great skills and energy on displace. In the 2nd half not as much rugby was played but the intent was there and intensity was high for the most part.

Bernard Foley has been fantastic tonight IMO

His knees also started on the ground on that last turnover. It was never a legal manoeuvre.

How many penalties at the ruck until the Reds see some more cheese?

I thought he's actually had some decent distance on his kicks tonight.

No I'm just saying we should expect complete players.

Retallick, Etzebeth, Itoje, Lawes, Launchbury etc. all do the hard stuff and have strong running games. Most international 6s do as well. Theres no reason we have to carry a Dob Dimmons or a Dean Dumm just because they can jump in a line out.

I'd prefer to actually have a lock with a running ability (not Simmons or Mumm) who can do everything else and a 6 who can also run (Higgers, Timani).

Horwitz has been defending well though. He always used to whack people at Shute Shield and schoolboy level - it seems he's now bringing it to Super.

Beat me to it - I read 125 kg but the extra 5kg is of no importance anyway.

6 foot 5 and 125 kilograms and not big enough for the second row? Who do you want? Andre the Giant?

It looked like he reached in to try and get it out but Hooper (?) didn't make the transfer. I don't think that was entirely his fault. I've certainly enjoyed it. Really enjoyed it. What is a "good game" is different from person to person but I think its certainly been one.

Perese with an absolute brainfart. Youthful inexperience. Hopefully he'll learn from it.

To be fair we shouldn't bring Smith's "status" into it. He tackled Mumms teammate high and Mumm had every right to take offence to it. I just laugh when he does because he takes "offence" to absolutely everything. He's the perennial captain of handbags. Otherwise is McCaw entitled to punch...
