    Qld Premier Rugby 2024

This has been covered ad nauseam across so many different rugby forums.... you should know the reason by now. Other than not having the test match at all (not an option) - there was literally no other time this could have been played. The scheduling of fixtures is mostly controlled by the...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

you're just relying on every host broadcaster and every stadium that hosts professional rugby in the world having access to the same level of technology and expertise to facilitate this

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

100% - just saw the roar article from monday, this was a huge cock up on the weekend...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It's not a perfect timing system like say, an olympic race. But typically there is a timekeeper appointed by the referees (usually a local) who will have both the comms to the main team of referees and the relevant law knowledge/ match day protocol knowledge to make sure they are as closely...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Not really - they are the sole entity (beyond the stadium) that had control over this. Just like RA / AAMI park is this weekend

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Just a reminder that this is entirely under the control of the home nation/ broadcaster/ stadium to implement these things for the fans/ players. WR (World Rugby) does have broadcast and host guidelines but anything to do with match timings sits with the referees and their own time keeping. Often there is...

    Australian Rugby / RA

It sucks that the Rebels are dead but I can't see this as tone deaf? The games played in Melbourne and while I don't imagine they have a massive reach, they have a interest in promoting the fixture. If I'm RA, and the choice I have is between promoting the fixture with an article that...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2024

Ben Earl recently played in the midfield for England and this has been spoken about as a new frontier for loose forwards to be able to play in the backline, and add versatility that way. I don't know for sure - but maybe it's a way for KH to get back on the radar of professional clubs.

    And way more tightheads penalised!!!

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

Don't disagree - but still seems odd to me, and could have probably been reasoned better. Smith is a 100% effort player and that's where the skill shines. If he plays within himself so to not 'cook' himself too much - he probably doesn't stand out. Damned if he does/ doesn't. I appreciate this...

    Refereeing decisions

I'd argue in most cases you can see just as well from 15m away on the touchline than from 2-3m

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

Odd reasoning if I'm honest. Infers Ryan played himself out of a position by going too hard, and playing too well...?

    Australian Rugby / RA

My feeling is quite a lot. I'd hazard a guess that it's got less to do to with how many locals are playing rugby in an area than how many locals support rugby in an area - although logic would suggest those are related. You could put a professional team just about anywhere and pull...

    Refereeing decisions

It is and at the same time it isn't. It's not true to say that referees don't ever guess, but to say they are always guessing is also not true. Referees look for cues in body position/ shape/ stability both pre engagement and in the movements after the set +/- feed and will make decisions based...

This happens already - but they don't come infield as I think you're suggesting.
