Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Crusaders v Waratahs

Watching the 6 Nations this morning, the players make a break and if nothings on, they're perfectly happy to go to ground and recycle the ball. Our boys could learn from this. The Kiwis do it all the time. I actually watched the Reds vs Brumbies game with a long time friend of mine, who was...

    All Sloppy Rig/Dad-Bod XV

Peter O'Mahony would be a decent bet for #6. Has captained both Ireland and the British & Irish Lions but to me has always looked like a plumber or someone you'd see down at the pub.

Would prefer Newsome to be dropped for Maddocks. Wouldn't mind seeing Moerea on the bench, to come on at 12 with Foketi shifting to the wing one game. Want to see the big fucker running short balls in the 10-12 channel.

FFS -- I don't even think we've looked THAT bad I just think the Crusaders are a level of great that we'll never be.

Hooper with another jackal. What a shame that he's not actually a 7 and that he's going to get dropped from the Wallabies and that he's a Russian plant and will be implicated in the Trump impeachment.

Great finish from Mark N (Nawaqanitawase). How the fuck do you pronounce his last name? Someone educate me.

Lalaki looking good too. I think Robbie Abel was a great buy.

Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Crusaders v Waratahs

I tend to agree. I find myself enjoying European/English rugby a lot more these days. It feels a lot more - I don't know - professional? Important? The games have a different intensity or gravity to them. Super Rugby feels like fast food, Big Bash-esque football.

Mark N (Nawaqanitawase) on the other wing has been poor defensively as well. Hunt has been excellent. Harrison has looked solid.

Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Crusaders v Waratahs

That last Crusaders try was a joke. Newsome didn't jump to compete for the ball, but then also didn't tackle the guy who landed smack bang infront of him with the ball. He then remembers that he's supposed to fucking defend, only to get in Hoopers way as the two defending Waratahs...

Beale is so frustrating. He makes so many opportunities by running incredible support lines, putting himself int he right place and having excellent acceleration, but then he immediately fluffs whatever he created with a brain melt.

Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Sunwolves v Rebels

Of course, as has Jones. But that isn't particularly relevant to my post. Just saying I don't get the hype behind him. Hyperbolic - of course - but some people refer to him as the second coming round these parts. My point is I wouldn't plonk Jones in that starting side. I would however give...

Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Sunwolves v Rebels

As a Tahs fan, I have absolutely never understood the Jones hype -- pre or post his departure, and I'd select RHP, Cottrell and Philip over him. They have a mongrel and a physicality that he doesn't. Jones just reminds me of another Dennis or Simmons. Workmanlike.

    The All-Airport XV.

Sitaleki Timani? Lopeti Timani? Could be a fantastic brother locking combination on the bench.

    Reds 2020

I've always found this argument curious. What do you think developed Maddocks and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto)'s game more? The 2-4 years that they spent playing at the Rebels and Reds? Or the 18-21 years they spent playing in NSW systems? Or the Wallaby environment? That's not attributable to those teams either.

    Rebels 2020

Also worth noting that Donaldson replaced Harrison for the quarter (or semi-final) of last years JRWC as Harrison was out with a head-knock and Donaldson got man-of-the-match and scored an 80m try. It's not like he's leagues below Harrison. He's simply considered not AS good, but that doesn't...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Castle has seemingly made a number of really positive calls in her time as CEO and I'm fully behind her, despite the naysayers. Simply look at how many super promising u20s and u18s we have signed in her time at the top, and the pathways and programs and funds that she has set up to retain this...

What fucking coffees do they drink in Queensland? Long blacks? Instant mix? What is this? Post 2008 Euro austerity measures? Enjoy a bit of frothed milk FFS.

    Reds 2020

Thing is - a lot of these boys are "rugby union" players whilst at highschool, but we forget to recognise the fact that they only reason that they are playing rugby union at private schools is because they were excellent rugby league players beforehand. A lot of boys - like Kurtley - play...
