Not sure what Reg has to do with any of this.

Not sure if anyone is "up in arms", but somewhat bemused, yes. I can see his use in the training setting, no doubt, as he does have a lot of experience, which is valuable enough. We'll see soon enough.

I'll preface this by stating I watched less Super Rugby this year than any other year, and did not see many Force games ( only slightly fewer than Tahs games ), so did not see Beale much. He has always seemed to me to be a utility. We've been down the path of multiple utility type players in...

I didn't say you said that @Dan54, your posts on the subject repeatedly infer that.

Pointing out errors that there refereeing team made, and there were quite a few, isn't "bagging" the ref. It's just pointing out things that happened. Using your position as an international coach to undermine a referee, blatantly in breach of rules for those in that position is a different...

Please point out the posts stating that Doleman was biased. Then look at the ones suggesting the referee team made a lot of mistakes. The latter would outnumber the former. Few, if any, were suggesting the Brumbies would have won if not for the mistakes. Most, nearly all, acknowledged that the...

Did you actually read my post that you just quoted. I mean the bit where I said I don't agree with coaches abusing refs. Clearly not. Try harder, or get Specsavers on the job. You'd like them - they sponsor the refs and umps in cricket!

I don't think anyone claimed they did.

If players have a shocker they get criticised, they might get dropped. Why should refs be above critical assessment? It's a nonsense argument. I'm not talking about coaches abusing officials, or players doing so on the field, like the examples you cited above. If the referee director / assessor...

On face value, I guess so, and I expect those teams to have large representation. Plenty of good ones in both teams, although they double up in a few positions so some good ones will miss out. But as long as I have been following Aus rugby, it's never that simple. Schmidt will have ideas about...

Given you never concede any refereeing errors, this is a redundant statement. These refs are professionals, not guys reffing the local 5th grade. At this level they should be better. And when they have a stinker, it should be called out. Nobody is demanding perfection, that is not possible. But...

And none of us would be the least surprised that you will accept pretty awful officiating. If you read the posts most acknowledge the Blues are playing better. If you think this is fine from Doleman, I'd hate to see what constitutes poor officiating. Should be better at this level.

Blues v Brumbies SF Fri June 14 2024

Yeah, as I said above, Blues have been the better team clearly. If Doleman was more accurate, the Brumbies would still be losing, but probably by a try less. Don't know if the Brumbies have the firepower to get over them even if Doleman did a square-up!

Optimistic to expect anything like that from Doleman. You'd see better officiating at 4th division subbies. So inconsistent at getting basic stuff right.
