    QLD GPS Rugby 2014

i bet there were a few kids who did similar back then maybe not year 8 but from year 9 on. would be good to hear if anyone knows some names and then what become of them as player. i am pretty sure a kid bartholemews did that for state high early 90s but not sure of exact years. Would any kid be...

    Refereeing decisions

The game modifications dont state this but the comp rules may have something in them that rules out any lifting??.

    Refereeing decisions

So if you penalise for a lifting tackle where legs go above the horizontal it has to be an automatic yellow. If all referees apply that directive it will take it out of the game like the shoulder charge which you may only see once a game even at grassroots level where the skill and knowledge is...

    AIC Rugby 2014

The whole idea of AIC selection is to trial for QLD schoolboys isnt it?? Thats why individuals should be selected on their skill set, speed and their size. How many true chances are in AIC 1 to gain Qld schoolboys jersey??

    AIC Rugby 2014

Gee FFF another example of ashgrove nepotism (club included). We do want AIC to actually beat GPS and have a decent representation in the QLD schoolboys teams dont we???

    Refereeing decisions

I like this line of thinking as although the directive of anything above horizontal is yellow doesnt allow for discretion. For instance peoples bodies bend so therefore a dangerous position can change to safe in an instant and vice versa. Also there is no scope to take into account how basic...

    Refereeing decisions

Thank you for that rationale as is the only response with a definative set images to process on the run, the idea a tap back constituting a pass hence the original player catching the ball makes sense enough for me. Thanks

    Refereeing decisions

  11. R

    Refereeing decisions

    Refereeing decisions

    Refereeing decisions

I did bring it up in this foram as I observed Johnathon Kaplan mention on a SA ref Q&A forum that that is a law that is not applied well at all levels. And the 10% is correct.
  14. R

    Refereeing decisions

No but the law states ".... and goes forward, and the ball touches the ground or another player before the original player can catch it."

    Refereeing decisions

Hi All I ruled a knock on last weekend as per the definition in the law book to many a boo and hiss where a player propelled the ball forward off his hands but then batted back to another player who caught the ball. Is this the correct way to apply the law or is it being too literal of the...

    Refereeing decisions

Sorry to change the subject but if there is any other referees out there has anyone got any whistle blowing techniques for a newbie??? I not too bad but cant seem to get the pro sounding whistle come out. As in my experience the better the whistle the better people think the ref is.
