Wallabies v France, Brisbane, Sat 17th July, 8pm

I suspect that the key is the last phrase in regards to touching the ground ahead of turniver attempt'. If you look at the breakdown you will see the French regularly have at least one hand and sometimes two on the ground before or during securing of the ball. It is very obvious in the last...

Winter Tour; Wallabies v France Wednesday 7 July, Brisbane

. McDermott' s clearances on the other hand were far quicker at the base of rucks and scrums leading to faster phase play allowing the forwards to get over the gain line. That speed difference would have made significant difference early in the game.

Winter Tour; Wallabies v France Wednesday 7 July, Brisbane

A backline of White, JOC (James O'Connor), Perese, Paisami, with Korobeiti and Vunivalu on the wings and Hodge at FB would be good; along with McDermott, Ikitau and Daugunu on the bench. Only three of that ten played tonight. McDermott has to start while White is out injured.

    McDermott already making a difference

Gordon is having a shocker. Hope McDermott gets a run sooner than later.

    Refereeing decisions

Saw what appeared to be a bewildering decision in the Reserve Grade match between GPS and Easts in Brisbane last weekend. A GPS player following play knocked the ball a long way backwards towards his own goal line when an Easts player attempted to pass it to another Easts player - while all...

That's a big margin for the Easts / GPS game given GPS will be missing five regular 1st graders this Saturday, including the 10, 12, 13 inside backs combination. I believe four of them are attending a wedding and the fifth is gone for a few weeks rep duties with Tonga.

    Ballymore Redevelopment

Is anyone able to provide an update on how the redevelopment is progressing out at Ballymore?

Yeah. Why a Brothers front rower wasn't yellow carded for six scrum penalties in a row demonstated this.

Super Rugby-TT: Rd 2 Western Force v Highlanders, May 21st, Perth

Miotti is light years better than McIntyre. He is play making in the close channels very well. Why the Force play McIntyre is absolutely beyond me.

One third of the competition rounds complete. Any punters want to update their preseason predictions? How many competition points will be needed to make the four this year? Do Easts still have a mathematical chance?

Thorn said he was hoping Paisami would be back for the Crusaders game, but that call would be made next week.

Super Rugby AU Grand Final - Reds v Brumbies - Saturday 8th May 2021

How does any spectator know if it was a knock on? Unlike League where a dropped ball in any direction is for some bewildering reason considered a knock on, in Union it must be propelled towards the opponent's goal line. If Tupou lost the ball in contact and it went directly to ground or...

    Trans-Tasman Super Rugby 2021

Can anyone confirm which Laws will apply for SRTT, given the two comps just completed used differing trial type Laws? I am assuming they are reverting to World Rugby International Laws. It will be interesting to see how teams adapt to a different set of Laws from what they have just worked...

    Wallabies 2021

Petaia should actually be an easy one. He is mostly more liability than asset where the occasional good thing may lead to a try but when balanced against the three or four poor things which usually result in turnover of possesion (and at international level probably lead to an opposition try)...

Super Rugby AU Rd 9 Force v Waratahs

Unfortunately,an AR does not have the benefit of hindsight as you do. He/she makes the call as the offence occurs (ie much closer to the time of photo 1 rather than photo 2 in this instance) and communicates that to the Ref who then processes the incoming message along with thinking about the...

Super Rugby AU Rd 9 Force v Waratahs

Umbrella type defence patterns are designed to attempt to keep the ball constrained to the inside backs. Not sure if this was the case here however if it were then it is intended to cut off wider play and allows defences to tighten up in the middle. The bottom line being that it is not just...

Perhaps whoever was throwing the shadow you can see in the bottom right of the first picture, which is clearly out of alignment with the rest of the shadows.
