Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

Good point. Nonu and Conrad are sorely missed thus far and the spot hasn't been filled due partly to injuries to their potential replacements (SBW, Ngatai, Crotty) and poor play (Fekitoa). Either way a solid 12/13 pairing is crucial and the ABs are lacking, at least compared to their previous...

Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

I often see Quade shovel proverbial shit to the guy next to him who gets clobbered when he should have just tucked his head and run for a couple metres. Foley often does this. He's a bit soft, which is hard to say about anyone who plays professional rugby, but there's some truth there. I've seen...

Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

My My biggest problem with Quade is taking the ball into contact, where he is much softer than Foley and inexplicably poor decision making/passing at times. The bigger the stage the worse he often seems to get. None of that shows up in the stats though.

Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

This is what I never understand. If there is someone better than the 10 at kicking for touch or goal, let them do it. Who cares what numner they are. At low level rugby I've played this honestly drove me insane with hookers and lineouts. There would be a great thrower at 8, but the hooker that...

Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

I love Foley and would leave him in the lineup at 10, but Beauden is also not a great kicker, so I don't think that's a useful comparison. It's also his kicking from hand that isn't great and that's an area where Beauden is fantastic. I hold my breath every time the Walkabies exit their 22 as...

Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

Coaching wise the defense was much improved, they were up way faster and fared far better in contact. Same thing on offense, far more direct at time and made hard yards. They got a bit away from the same old pod system they've been using for ages and I think that was a good thing. I don't think...

For those calling for the replacement of Moore and Foley, who do you want to replace them? TPN is great, far more impact than Moore, but he looked exhausted after 25 minutes of play. He and Moore seem to be splitting games, so it is a bit semantic as to who starts. If you get rid of Moore...

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

Have to say as someone who enjoys back play the Aussie backs are the strangest assemblage of players right now. You've got high ball and offloading Folau who still doesn't really seem like a union player. A tank 13 who can't play a lick of defense. 10 and 12 who love to run and pass, but can't...

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

I honestly think Hooper is just mentally and physically exhausted. His game relies on energy and he looks like he is trying, but just doesn't have that extra gear. He's still making the most tackles and is busy. Ideally you could rest him and bring him off the bench, but who's his replacement...

    The Wallabies Thread

I think the reality is that the best way to slow down ball or cause turnovers is through dominating at the point of contact as opposed to a sneaky little guy that latches on to the ball. You still have a Pocock that does it so well that you have to play him, but take a Matt Todd, who is also...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Like the lineup. I have to think the goal for Skeleton is to get him to a point where he can come on at the sixty minute mark and be a wrecking ball without being a deficiency in his areas of weakness. I like what was said about the team going into next year. You now have a ton of players with...

New Zealand v Wallabies, Eden Park, Sat 22nd October

Canadian Wallabies fan. Tough loss, but lots of positives. The biggest difference for me was that the forwards were providing some go forward. Arnold, Coleman and Timani can make yards and this opens things up for everyone else. The downside is that they aren't amazing at getting to the...
