    Sydney Colts - 2015

Never heard of Heath Robinson before and had to Google him - Brilliant! Sadly I think Australian University Rugby has gone the way of NSW Country School's Rugby. Defunct at the expense of a lot of other kids who might have played in the good old days before us dinosaurs. Refer decline in SJRU

    Sydney Colts - 2015

The Corp Colts today at Kiama, Weather and scenery outstanding. 1sts Beat Tuggeranong Vikings convincingly through their backs who are fast and very well coordinated. Well done coaching team. They never took a penalty kick, just tap and go! Very fast and ball control was excellent. (When they...

    Sydney Colts - 2015

Thanks Iluvmyfooty, That clears it up. But, my disappointment for a lot of good young students is that there are so few clubs competing in the Laffan Cup which is the selection trial for Australian Unis. They must be missing a lot of talented kids - or do they have wildcard system?

    Sydney Colts - 2015

Thanks Brett, I think the question is, if he was attending Sydney Uni, and plays for Parra can he represent Sydney Uni? I don't know the answer.

    Sydney Colts - 2015

This weekend The Corp heads to Kiama for Trials. Note that Uni Colts only have the 1st Grade team a certainty to play. Not sure what is being cobbled together for 2nd Colts but TBA at this point. They will have it sorted by the end of training tonight. Long way to travel to look at the Ocean...

Thanks Druid, that clears it up for me.

    Shute Shield 2015

HI Scrum Doctor - I took a detour to look at TG Milner no 1 on my way to the Carpark after the Colts. There were so few people there I can imagine it was hard to get someone to keep score!:) Just wait until the Corporation comes back with "Get" Carter in the season proper. Then we will see the...

    Sydney Colts - 2015

Thanks Druid. I don't have the facts first hand, but @Dingasden says he knows that Juniors played against Seniors. At our country club, it is possible for 18 year olds to play senior Rugby as per the clearance you mention. Dingasden is saying that 16 and 17 year olds played against Seniors...

    Sydney Colts - 2015

Dinga - if that is a fact it is i) an appalling breach of duty of care ii) indicates a very serious lack of judgement iii) should be noted and reported to the NSWRU. I still cannot bring myself to believe it. Not calling you a liar either. Just gobsmacked.

    Sydney Colts - 2015

Yesterday I watched the Corp vs Eastwood trial games at T G Milner (Is it just me or has NOTHING changed at TG since 1978? Even the paint in the Dunnies looks the same) 3rd grade was probably even. 2nd half very messy with many scrums. Uni have a good number of new players, some of them...

    Sydney Colts - 2015

OK - game on! The young bloke starts another season with Uni this week with trials against Eastwood. The season of Saturday commutes to the big smoke is on again. It is all good. When he has home games, and if he is not too knocked about, we head to one of the excellent restaurants in Glebe or...

    S15 Rd 1 - Brumbies v Reds, Friday 13th February

I didn't hear you complaining, and from the couch at our place we agreed with all the above. In the Fainga'a case, loudly! Bloody halfbacks being treated like Koalas!

    Shute Shield 2015

I am getting a bit excited about the Shute Shield coming up soon. 2 thoughts. I am very disappointed for Penrith that they have lost the Mckenzie brothers, and others apparently. Poor old Emus keep getting back up - but you can only take so many knocks. Can anyone tell me if there is any...

    Shute Shield 2015

Thanks. Wow. That's big. They played some great rugby last year. I hope they can keep it going with whoever gets the gig. (suggestions on another thread, from people north of the Tweed, might indicate that Richard Graham could be looking for a job soon. Someone said about 8 weeks. Can the Rats...

    S15 Rd 1 - Brumbies v Reds, Friday 13th February

Maybe so. Any particular observations? I thought he did alright. Qld made it hard for him. But I also reckon that in the first half he let the Brumbies contest the breakdown without coming through the gate. He notably fixed that in the 2nd half, but the damage was done.

Probably a dumb question, but could you tell me please, Is he leaving this year or next?

Did you notice that when big Kev walked past the bench after being sent off none of them even looked at him? What's going on there?

Poor old Aussie Rugby - we're going through a tough patch. I still bloody love it though!
