Dat confidence. In my opinion, Nudgee didn't look too strong today - neither did the Light Dark Blue. I'm not saying that BBC will win, nor that they have strong odds, but I can't see anyone totally writing BBC off. As much as Digby's rant was over the top, BBC seem to have cleaned up their act...

There seems to be a bit of a drop off with the BGS forwards in terms of skill level and importantly, experience. Harry Egan and the other forwards might not have been up to the job.

Correct. BGS only won 1 game last year in the 15As - against a weak BSHS. Does Nudgee have many under 16s playing up in the 1st XV? BGS' 16s only lost one person from last year's team (Paddy Dooley) and gained a few from injury. BGS 2011 16As didn't win a game - came back the next season as GPS...

BGS seemed to be just tired towards the end of the 2nd half - maybe a few fresh legs would've helped. I didn't think Grammar used any of their reserves...

NC d BGS 26 - 18 Tense game. A few minutes until half time it was level at 6-6, until Nudgee scored a runaway try in the corner with their winger(?). Similar situation nearing full time. 19-18, BGS were nearing field goal range, but ridden by errors due to the rain, they let their guard down...

BGS might be looking at another thrashing in the 2nd XV this year. Especially with a weaker opens side with only one year 11 playing up in the 1sts. Could be a problem for the Light Dark Blue heading into to the season with a lack of depth...

Yule taking Halliday's old place at 9. BGS should have a fair amount of strength in the forward pack. Morrey, Laud, Spencer and McReit all in the pack?

BGS will suffer from the loss of Marsden, but I'm certain that they have enough depth to replace him without too much drama.

No team just some names being thrown round. Ferg Halliday (Qld Red), Zac Laud, Trey Kemp (Qld White), Dalton Cox (Qld Red), Matt Marsden(Qld White) and Dan Forsyth (Qld White). Possibility of Ferg Baker (played 2nd XV as he was a year older) playing plus people like Stewart McReight(Qld...

    Respect for Refs..an interesting article

As a referee I can say that in junior rugby there has been a big push in Queensland to keep everything positive. In the beginning of the season there was a "positive or pointless day" which was for respecting both young players and referees. One thing which was used very well is ground marshals...
