Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

Apparently Horne and McCabe should be good to go for the knockouts. Per Growden "Due to this encouraging development, the Wallabies will not be sending an SOS to Australia for a back-line replacement."...

    Pot... Kettle... Black... WTF

Cheers Attila and welcome aboard. Now you've got me pumped for a big game. I too like to idea of Parra at flyhalf so they can practise their 10 man rugby for the knockout stages. I am also looking forward to seeing Picamoles run out again after his strong performance v Canada. I am still picking...

France at the Rugby World Cup 2011

I thought Parra looked quite sharp running at 10 at the end when they scored all the points v Canada. Maybe he is the solution as backup to Trinh-Duc with Yachvilli off the bench to 9, which would allow a 5-2 bench split.

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

Well played Ireland. Horrendously played Wallabies. That was the least amount of actual rugby played that I have ever watched during an 80 minute game, and full credit to the Irish for dictating the tempo. As someone said at the pub, and probably by Thomo somewhere here - we got Munstered ...

RWC 2011 - Pool A - NZ, Tonga, France, Japan, Canada

Despite the score line the Canadians were competitive until about 20 to go. I liked their simple NH style simple game plan with plenty of good pick and drives with bodies at the breakdown, and they contested French possesion well to restrict quality ball to the backline. The French scrum and...

Digby Ioane with suspected broken hand

Bring on Shmoo !!! Then he and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) can do paper scissors rock over who gets the 11 or 14 jersey. That was my first thought too but then it occurred to me it probably happened after the bench had been cleared. Although I guess they could have used the blood bin ala Harlequins and put Ant...

    G&GR Wallaby MOM v ITY

    3. Pocock 2. Ioane 1. Samo I could have easily had Quade, Horwill, Moore, Vickerman in there as well. I am really loving Vickerman's mongrel, especially in the first 10 minutes, it really sets the tone for the game. Great cameo from JOC (James O'Connor) too.

    How excited are you!

I'm pumped !!! I bought a new jersey during the week, the whole office of 50 odd downed tools on friday to watch the All Blacks Haka and most of the first half v Tonga, the poms almost getting done by the Argies today, the French media pretending to be surprised that Les Bleus almost got...

Kurtley Beale as top try scorer and 50m penalty after the siren to win the final.

    What's up with Dan Carter?

I just think he got Samoed too many times. Mind you, he looked quite sharp in setting up the Smith try taking on Genia and Ant and still getting the off load away.

    Playing 13 under Deans

Some of his fans may not agree but there may be some truth in the claim. In the weekends game I clearly recall seeing Beale with ball in hand looking outside to see an unmarked Ant but then taking the ball into contact and thought that it was a bit odd at the time. With ball in hand Ant may not...

Kurtley Beale & Quade Cooper (2011 test form)

Watching in real time on saturday I was thinking that both Quade and Beale were having "hom-hum" nights but after a second viewing of the game, Quade had a much better game than I first thought, and as per TOCC I was impressed with his running into contact but also his kicking game and decision...
