Brisbane Jnr Club Rugby (U13 and Up ) - 2016

JGC...... Funny I already mentioned kids/parents getting ripped off! JGC is the prime example!!!

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Again the kids in the thugby league rep teams don't pay a cracker! Zero, zip, nothing.... IT'S FREE!!! They don't sell raffle tickets either. As long as the ARU just aims its market at the private school boys that have money our game will be stuck in the perception of rugby is only for the rich...

Brisbane Jnr Club Rugby (U13 and Up ) - 2016

We have to pay insurance etc to. I'm on our clubs committee down here. I can see a $20 or even $50 difference but $220? How can anyone justify that as OK?

Brisbane Jnr Club Rugby (U13 and Up ) - 2016

Can someone explain why an U8 has to pay $300 to play rugby in Brisbane? Our club on the NSW Central Coast charge U7 $25 , U8-10 $80 and 11-17 $90. Is the QRU trying to drive players away?

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Mate you've nailed it. My son to was involved in the first year. As it was a bit of a hike to get to training I watched every session. Not once did the forwards practice scrums or line outs. Just did fitness and ran the backline. There were kids that've never played rugby before that had no idea...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Looks like people are realising although JGC is great in concept it's VERY poorly executed and an absolute waste of time. The ARU have a lot to answer for in driving kids from our sport. Why would they try out for JGC and pay $950 when they can play league and trial for Harold Matts/SG Ball for...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Just saw the Eastern Province U17s. Two player that play league in the squad. Well done ARU/NSWRU on keeping your DISGUSTING policy of allowing players to takes spots only to be allowed to return to their chosen code. Dead set joke. It's all good though, you've got your hands on the GPS players...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Yes you're correct, rugby players can try out for Harold Matts and SG Ball but if they make the team they MUST register with a league team and play. The players that "benefit" do not pay a cracker..... Nothing.... 0 ..... No partial payment.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Can anyone confirm if the ridiculous policy of allowing players from other codes coming in and not registering and playing with a local club is still in place? If so I will NOT be passing on the information to any players in our club. If I do hear of players thinking of trialling for JGC I will...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Many kids see kids coming from league, playing JGC then going back to league. They figure what's the point of playing rugby in a four team comp. they can go play league in a 10 or 12 team comp and still play JGC.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

JGC= Just Grabbing Cash I for one am NOT encouraging kids to trial for the JGC. Why should we? Although JGC is great in concept it has been shown to be a monumental disappointment and waste of time. Many kids from our zone tried out. Many missed out as the ARU and now NSW allow kids from other...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

I like the ARC rule of a conversion worth 3 and a penalty worth two. I'm not like the leagueys who think games are all about tries being scored... Far from it. But reducing the penalty to 2 points would encourage a kick for touch/line out or choose the scrum. What we need to understand about...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

But then you'd need to remove the brains of anyone involved in the game you're touting.... Particularly the supporters.

Really I don't care what league do. I just care what rugby don't do. The first year of the JGC the ARU spent $150,000 on it. Now to those of us at grassroots level would say that's an investment in junior rugby. Not they ARU. They said they LOST $150,000. If the really want the JGC to be a...

    Australian Rugby / RA

They're the governing body that started the programme... Where else would the blame lie. Again, great concept, poor execution. The way it was explained to parents was it was to compete with Harold Matts and Ball, it woul not interfere with the boys summer sports and it would not interfere with...

Some centres have a policy? It should be an across the whole programme policy. This is about rugby so to allow kids to come in and take our elite spots away from kids that've been playing our game since they were U7s only to return to their chosen code is wrong. My son played one year. He pulled...

The crux of your point is Harold Matts is not free... But it is for the players. There are numerous things wrong with the JGC. After the first year I filled in the survey on what we all thought of the programme. In the comments section I wrote what many parents thought needed to be done to fine...

Yes. I know of at least five in my region that played JGC and then went back to league.
