    Crusaders v Waratahs. Christchurch.

Can this be let go now please as FP said? BTW, that picture explains exactly why a touchie would've called Beale offside. Players on defence are taught to stand RELATIVE to the players either side. That's how refs and touchies judge offside in the middle of the park away from a ruck - by where...

    Reds 2011

I think it would be a feeling of disbelief and disappointment if Cooper left the Reds. I think he would regress at the Force in terms of playing as well. At the Reds he has a really great balance in the inside backs with Genia and Fainga'a, plus Ioane and Hynes around him and he's developing a...

    Reds 2011

On The Rugby Club it was just said the the Force have put in a huge money offer for Quade Cooper from third party sponsorships and some Force insiders think that it is a done deal. General consensus from the panel is that he'd be silly to leave the Reds for the Force due to the combinations at...

    Bok Weekly S14 Barometer

I still enjoy those articles, they are interesting to read. The only concern in the Bok camp is really the performance of the Lions and Cheetahs. At least the Cheetahs have an excuse with Brussouw and Smith being missing a lot.

    Brumbies v Hurricanes, Canberra

Re: Brumbies V Canes What about Fanifo?

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. I know it's been mentioned earlier, but I am surprised the Rebels are not chasing Turinuri (or they haven't been speculated to be chasing Morgs in the press yet).

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. Hmmmm, yeah. 1. Greg Somerville (NZ) 2. Adam Freier (Aus) 3. Laurie Weeks (Aus) 4. Adam Byrnes (Aus) 5. Luke Jones (Aus) 6. Tim Davidson (Aus) 7. [lipman (Eng) /Robinson (Aus) still possible, I guess] 8. Gareth Delve (Wal) Not the best...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. If the Rebels sign a top LH prop then Weeks could go to the bench. Hopefully it's not a wasted move for him - moving from a starting spot at the improving Reds to a bench spot at the Rebels who will likely struggle in their first year...

The playing rugby in 2010 thread.

Hah, I'm already crocked. One achilles is tight so I've been told by workmates that I seem to be limping everywhere and one of my thumbs is rather painful around the bottom joint. Unfortunately, the gf has no pity. Assuming I still make the 4ths in a few weeks, we'll see how it goes! :)

    Shute Shield 2010

All UNSW teams made the finals last year and two make the grand finals (1sts and 4ths), but I am not too sure that we went too well last weekend in the first round of the season against Hunters Hill. I was supposed to play but couldn't make it. Somes grades look stronger, and some look weaker so...

    Waratahs 2010

Yeah, wrong thread, but those injuries to Robinson and TPN sound serious. I've been wondering how the hell they can play in two weeks? Looks very hopeful to me. Better off resting them and hope they are back at full capacity before the end of the comp rather than carrying a player with a...

    Shute Shield 2010

PS I saw on the Two Blues thread that they only pay $150 per year for fees. Is that really the case? Subbies clubs generally charge more in fees (out of necessity)...

    Shute Shield 2010

gambler - you playing Subbies this year? Regarding the Dirty Reds, the story I first heard was that the money came from sponsorship, and mostly from companies run or owned by ex-players/people close to the club. Quite common for Subbies clubs... I can tell you that plenty of other Subbies...

    Shute Shield 2010

I think I told this anecdote on the board last year, but what the hell. Went to a Souths NRL game in a corporate box (gf's work, and geez that stadium is awful with 5k people in it), and one of the guys serving food was a student at Sydney Uni who had two paying jobs whilst he studied...

G&GR Force Player of the Match (versus Highlanders)

Actually, this year I think that we have been a bit worse here at criticing refs than TSF, and our teams have been winning more. I'm another who is over whining refs (unless it's a completely bottled HK Bledisloe type performance), as it doesn't do any good any good in the long run. I'm trying...

    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

Mitchell spent a bit over half the season at the Reds at outside centre a few years back. Did a decent job there, too. Hynes has been looking dangerous when running the ball back from around his own 40m to halfway line, some of which have led to points and he has scored a few tries as well. He...

    Lions Vs Reds. Bloem.

I am a Reds supporter, and when people talk this away about the Reds in the last 10 years, I get really scared. I was expecting a win with a bonus point, but currently I am very nervous about it. Of course, I don't agree with the bolded statement either. Half of the Reds team weren't exactly...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. Ah, in that case, I agree. Professional sportsman train day in day out for skills in one game which don't translate well to another, not to mention core strength work, flexibility and fitness types differ for the games as well. Going from...

    8 point tries?

They changed the rules in Subbies this year: 8 interchanges allowed, people subbed off can come back on. Basically 8 league style interchanges.

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. You're right. The full forward and ruckman would "massacree" the converted rugby player. People who assume that X and Y from game Z could play game C and belt A and B are generally wrong when both games are fully professional. Don't get...
