When you say 'most of us,' what you mean is Rebels fans......... because this would be terrible for us Brumbies supporters. It would also eventually destroy both teams.

Nah, Wayne Smith has been publishing all kinds of rubbish during this saga, almost Growden-esque........ and he was hardly alone in predicting the culling of a team.

While I don't think the Vic Government would be happy to see the Rebels go, they're not going to turn down the opportunity to host major sporting events, particularly something as big as a Lions tour that generates so much tourism dollars............... To suggest otherwise is fantasy.

They'd still get Lions tests and the odd Bledisloe.......... Whether or not the Rebels survive is irrelevant to that.

I don't mean to spoil the party, but as I mentioned on the 'Where to Super Rugby?' thread.......... Cath Murphy only stated that the Victorian Government want to be consulted on any future decision, and then broadly discussed why it would be bad for the Rebels to be cut.

Yeaaaaaaaah........... that tweet is not quite a true representation of what was discussed on the show. "The Vic Govt. would like to be consulted on the future of the Melbourne Rebels.' would've been a tad more honest.

They had a good crowd of around 14,000 for one match after they rallied some support, but it doesn't seemed to have carried over in the weeks afterwards so their crowds have overall been quite poor too - second smallest of the Aus teams (Rebs on the bottom)..........
