    Reds v. Crusaders, May 29th, Suncorp - 2011R15

Yup, fair enough. I was probably reading too much into it, Nasser's comments were actually pretty damn reasonable to the journalist. It was the new league consortium talking it up. My apologies to Nasser. To be honest, I was more frustrated by the lack of quality in the article - mainly from...

    Reds v. Crusaders, May 29th, Suncorp - 2011R15

I would actually think that SBW and Cooper would be going against Nasser's recommendations by chasing their desires. Nasser seems very money driven to me - my opinion, mind. I have a fairly low opinion of the vast majority of pro player managers around, and Nasser is no different. There just...

    Reds v. Crusaders, May 29th, Suncorp - 2011R15

Regarding the 48,301 people that showed up, allegedly only 33,301 people showed up to watch rugby, the Reds, and 14 Crusaders players. http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/cooper-top-of-the-shopping-list-for-brisbanes-new-dream-team-20110531-1feqz.html Seriously? Oh, and...

Video: Judiciary looks into Rhodes collar and Deysel throttle

Oh, and of course, agree Deysel should have gone for a lot longer.

Video: Judiciary looks into Rhodes collar and Deysel throttle

This is from my observations, but I think that the SA citings and penalties (that is, for stuff that occurs in SA) are generally more lenient than the Aus / NZ ones (of course, there are exceptions). I don't think there's a bias towards anyone from any country, eg I've seen Aus teams do things...

The Code: Life with the Waratahs

Would love for this to be done every year, but on a different team every year. And for it to have a little more depth, too.

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

Morne had some cracking highlights from the Cheetahs game, but I don't know if the Tahs will be so...permissive? in defence. Crusaders have a bye this week, which is why I didn't carry SBW for the last week. Lucky thing, too. The sad thing for me is that I left Fruean on the bench, and he...

    Waratahs 2012

Indeed. The "Toey Human" definitely has had has off-field issues in the past. He's also back at St George Illawarra on (IIRC) a long term contract. He will probably see out the rest of his career there.

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

Some lucky revisions and Adriaan Strauss' points coming in saved me from a complete dog of a week. 352 currently, but I was on 288 on Sunday night. My woeful calls of Adam Thomson (didn't play, Messam on my bench), Siale Piutau (I benched Gits who didn't play anyway), Poki and McCabe screwed...

    2011 S15 Match Officials Wekk 16-18

I thought that Hawko is happy with Joubert's appointment to Tahs games, it needs to be taken the other way (that is, I read that as: now the Tahs' season may be gone, they get the good refs, instead of when they may have needed them earlier...).

Vito, Lam and Jane trying their best to make my Canes call look stupid. Farking Horrorcanes.

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

JC JvR, Strauss, (Big Mac) Moore, (Ged Robinson) Franco vdM, Sykes, (Campbell) Vito (c), Lam, Thomson, (Messam) Pretorius, (Phipps) Beale, Dan Carter, Siale Puitau, (Gits) McCabe, Jane, Poki, (Fruean) Taking a risk on both Clan wingers, and a few of the Horrorcanes backrow. Had Jane as...

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

OK, who would you guys bench out of this lot? Gits, Beale, Dan Carter, or Siale Piutau? I'm actually tempted to go Dan Carter or Gits, believe it or not. Maybe Gits. Anyone have any thoughts?

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

Reckon I might bring in Vito or Thomson for Alberts. Debating if I should leave Pocock in or not. Also leaves me with both Lam and Vito in the backrow, at least temporarily. Don't like two in the same team in the same position, although the Canes are out of byes. Sykes being left in leaves...

    Reds 2011

Don't exactly see the Rebels need for another outside back, myself. Force makes sense, as would the Brumbies, as both are short class outside backs.

    Western Force 2012

Fox Sports News channel had an update in their ticker claiming that David Smith has "fallen in love with Perth" and is keen to stay another year. Good news for the Force if true.

Big rwc news - nine is going to put effort in

The AFL has been putting in a bit of effort to spread itself to SA, including coaching clinics and other stuff. No doubt the highlights packages is a part of that.

    Reds v. Crusaders, May 29th, Suncorp - 2011R15

Well, not quite. You basically (and vitriolically) called them (accused them of being?) one dimensional and only able to score from counter attacks / turnovers. Which was the last two parts of the analysis - the Crusaders are definitely capable of scoring from phase play.

IRB U/20 Tournament and Oz Squad

Slim; if the Brumbies were top of the table right now, you can be sure that Colby and Hooper would not be going to the U20 World Cup. No doubt special dispensation was given on the basis that Hynes and Davies will likely not be seen again this season, and Lucas is a walking injury, as is...

    G&GR Fantasy Super Rugby 2011

Pocock would be my sacrificial lamb for Thomson. Bit unsure on Thomson though as I doubt he'll go the full 80, but reckon he might score better than Pocock anyway. And be cheaper! Currently, I am trying to choose between Corey Jane or Hosea Gear. I think I'll dump Fruean for either Jane or...
