    Brumbies 2016

Back in court this afternoon. Brumbies board trying to overturn the order baring them from standing down Jones.

    Refereeing decisions

Worth noting that when ending the ruck there's no mention of the halfback in the laws of the game. Technically when they reach into the ruck to pick up the ball they are not legal (hands in the ruck), but they're never penalised in the interests of actually having a game to watch and play. But...

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

Quick comparison with last year - though obviously it's not apples v apples (start dates, new teams, games included in ratings etc) Up to Round 5 2016 - Ave 62, 2 games > 100, max 149 Up to Round 5 2015 - Ave 72, 4 games > 100, max 122 and where we were not so long ago Up to Round 5 2012 -...

    Refereeing decisions

Similar one at the start of this great try from the Chiefs against the Force My question on this one Does this apply And if not, does this apply

    Refereeing decisions

Except t those two guys at the back aren't bound to the ruck? Ball's definitely out there

    Refereeing decisions

Hooper definitely started onside. He may have come through too quickly but ref thought the ball was out here I guess. Hard to tell with the Robertson one due to the camera angles, but it could have been fine as long as the ball was lost before the ball career went to ground - which it may have...

    Reds 2016

In unrelated news, looks like Knuckles has got himself a new gig http://qldvotes.lgaq.asn.au/electionResults_Sunshine%20Coast_C_Division%204.html

    Reds 2016

The scary thing so far is the Reds have probably had the easiest draw of any side in the comp and we're still coming stone cold last.

ARU take over the Western Force.

Would that be why RUPA are backing a draft now?
  11. Strewthcobber

ARU take over the Western Force.

I winder about that. The Wallaby games + TRC draw more eyeballs. 3 Bled games alone would go close to having as many viewers here as all of the Super tourny. Of course there's no Wallaby money (or at least limited amounts) without the Super teams so it's fairly moot That also might have...

ARU take over the Western Force.

I would have thought the force games in the wa timezone is worth a fair bit more to our European broadcast partners than 30k domestic viewers.....

ARU take over the Western Force.

Gold Coast is where you go if you're a sporting organisation wanting to lose a lot of money
  14. Strewthcobber

ARU take over the Western Force.

It raises a good point, if a competitive Force is a priority for the ARU, the firepower debacle at least shows that you can get top tier players to go west, if you are can find a way to have them paid. (See also Melbourne Storm and Lions/Swans in the AFL with their salary cap concessions)
  15. Strewthcobber

ARU take over the Western Force.

The cynic in me suggest their model was massive salary cap rorts and no need to balance the books (They are propped up by even now as part of the sale by News Ltd to the tune of millions of dollars a year).

Pulver's earning his money this week....

    Brumbies 2016

Smith's report says he was hoping to get approval from the board for an injunction before being stood down. Not sure to what purpose. It reads like it was a seperate injunction from today's - on behalf of the board, not against them. Or am I reading too much into it? edit - read the article...

    Brumbies 2016

Wayne Smith reported that it was an extraordinary board meeting that dumped MJ on Monday. Looks like MJ tonight has tried to have the clubs call another Extraordinary Board Meeting, but wasn't successful. Perhaps he's still trying to get this "injunction" up.

    Brumbies 2016

Brumbies can't afford to pay out Jones' contract can they? Sounds like he's going to get his money's worth one way or another

    Reds v Waratahs Round 5 - 2016 Super Rugby
