More of the same? He is not just objecting to the proposals. He tells Pulver they think he is numpty. And I think they are right. From the points raised in the letter,Pulver would fail a first year assignment on business plans.

ARU moves to kill off club player payments: A 3rd tier, club rugby and the $60k persuader

Won't work Pfitzy, 3rd tier is dogshit without the Soup players. You can't delay all the comps until the soup is over.

Your not on your own, that's probably why they call it a beep test and not a ping test.

It's not hatred, to say one club has huge advantages over its competitors. It's not hatred to say that the existing system designed to spread the talent throughout the comp is not working. Window dressing shits me.Either change the system to generate the changes you desire,or just abolish the...

    Shute Shield 2013

My point was if all the Clubs followed the Uni practice of heavy recruitment of Scholboy stars, that is the inevitable result.Market forces, supply and demand, call it what you like. The points system needs to limit the number of Schoolboy stars any club can register. I believe that this will...

    Shute Shield 2013

FP, if every club adopts the Uni model, the most highly paid players in any club will be Colts rookies,as Uni fees get gazumped by fees + accommodation etc etc. It easy to say they develop kids through the Colts, but they aggressively recruit the best and brightest. See how good Uni's systems are...

Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament - 2014

Why do you assume the School chosen is always the first choice? As you point out,the timing of the event clashes with some Schools other sports.Additionally I thought it was on during the School term as well. I could well imagine many Schools would pass up this opportunity, inviting as it may...

ARU moves to kill off club player payments: A 3rd tier, club rugby and the $60k persuader

Having a 3rd tier, is I understand universally supported. Having 4 of these teams competing in both the SS & the 3rd tier is the issue for most IMO.

Dave, any scenario that involves 4 clubs playing both the SS and in the new tier 3 comp, will destroy the SS. The strongest players in the 8 weaker clubs will all gravitate to the strongest 4, so they can play in the 3rd tier. The SS would be untenable.

ARU moves to kill off club player payments: A 3rd tier, club rugby and the $60k persuader

I would guess that the governing body, will let any failed clubs to go to the wall.Exposing directors to claims from creditors of insolvent trading. The "at risk" clubs continue to pay players, because with paid players they are barely competitive.Without these players, they will be cannon fodder.

I would have thought Khoder was about the same vintage and weight division as "snapable" Tim. Maybe Khoder should challenge TH to a bout. I hear Khoder is quite fond of the sport. I know I would pay good money to see Khoder teach him a lesson. But I won't be holding my breath.

All Blacks v Springboks - Eden Park, Sept 14th 2013

I don't think thy have changed a bit.Technology just makes it easier to spot when they cheat. There was a good little video posted recently, showing Hayden? Jumping sideways ,making it look like he was fouled in a line out against Wales,to win a penalty and the game.

Australia v Argentina, Sept 14th in Perth

But normally it comes out of nowhere, and we are all shocked. Maybe we are not giving the BIL,the AB's and the Bok sufficient respect? That is a daunting schedule for any Test side. Having said that, I did take the $4.40 earlier this week. I will be a little bit happy, and a little bit sad no...

I don't think there is any plan. About anything. Possibly he has decided that a US skiing holiday is more family friendly than Europe. But that's just an idea and not a plan anyway..... So no plans about anything.

If that happens there will be no SS in 30 years time. There is a huge gap between the best and the worst already. Having stand alone 3T teams paying in the SS will exacerbate this.

ARU moves to kill off club player payments: A 3rd tier, club rugby and the $60k persuader

I am sure that if player payments were banned, club sponsorships would reduce substantially. There would be no extra $100k to lavish on juniors.

I am suggesting this scenario will occur,in the event that the ARU bans Clubs from paying players.
