Why is Marto employed as a commentator?

Nick McArdle on Rugby HQ about Marto moonlighting as a Motorsport Cmmentator for FoxTel. I was talking to the one of the producers in the Motorsport Department and asked them if he (Marto) was going OK and he said "Nah. Complete rubbish. He's got no idea." So no change then.

^^ I thought so as well, but this from Hobbiton Council website suggests otherwise. http://www.sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/Outdoors/Parks-and-Sports/Ovals/Forshaw-Rugby-Park Maybe Council just manage the park on behalf of the Trust (or whatever legal structure has been set up) "owns" the park.

    The Tuesday Top Five

Lots of Sydney and Brisbane footy will be postponed/cancelled this weekend. With Councils closing ovals when someone leaves the taps on for more than 5 minutes, our junior and lower grade players almost never get to experience wet weather footy. How can we prepare the Pros for Wet Weather...

    Sydney Colts - 2015

Woodies effectively control TG Millner, so they are not at the whim of some council bureaucrat who doesn't like the rain. Could go ahead. (Woodies v Beasties) Manly Oval Closed. (MMM v Shoremen) No 1 Oval (and St Andrews/ St Pauls Oval) closed for colts. (Randi-Wix v BuildCorp) Rat Park ...

Brumbies v Waratahs, round 12, Friday 1 May

The illegalities are related to how the maul is set up in the first instance, the fact that many join the maul ahead of the last feet in the maul and the lack of a bind being maintained by the ball carrier at the back of the maul. The ball carrier sliding backwards is doing nothing to help to...

    Reds 2016

Interesting that the two "most capped" Australian Schoolboys of all time (CFS and Hugh Roach - Eastwood and NSW) both seem to have struggled to set the world on fire in top level grown up rugby.

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

... ... ... the pursuit of which generates over 1/2 the internet traffic, and has brought many a promising public figures career to an early halt.

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

Look at the lot of you and all your stats and numbers. You have all become Michael Foley and Eddie Jones Clones. You can not reduce our beautiful game to a series of numbers. I like the bikini quote from @Joeleee. The stats may show a lot, but all the really interesting stuff is hidden.

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

^^^ Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel. The matches will now stand as; Saturday 2 May 1pm, Japan v New Zealand 3pm, Australia v Samoa Oceania Rugby Championship Director, Wayne Schuster emphasised the importance of player safety. “Naturally we are disappointed that there will be games...

    Reds 2016

^^^ I don't think it is just CFS that has been stifled. When was the last time you felt really excited that the Reds backline had the pill because you knew something sensational was going to happen? They have had plenty of talented athletes for the punters to get excited about over the last...

Brumbies v Waratahs, round 12, Friday 1 May

But if they get it moving forward quickly, then Sir tends to delay the "use it" call. With the ripper solely concerned with getting hold of Gilbert, then drifting backwards, there is one less shoulder to the grindstone at the precise time that maximum shoulders are needed at the grindstone to...

Brumbies v Waratahs, round 12, Friday 1 May

In the old days, the piggies had to work the ball to the back of the maul, rolling or otherwise, by hand. No one "drifted" to the back of the maul with Gilbert tucked under their arm. The primary job of everyone in the maul was to bind tight, and push forward and straight. Gilbert was smuggled...

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

^^^^ Pfft .... ... ... Stormchasers. They're nothin'. However if this bloke turns up at Burleigh Waters Bunnings looking for a bit of wood, then you'll know you are in for a bit of trouble.

^^^ Frank Calugay is true blue Waratah stock, and hails from the North Coast of NSW. Originally attending Alstonville High School, a Nudgee College snatch and grab team persuaded him to finish his year 11 and 12 across the border in 2013/14 where he played 1st XV for Nudgee with distinction, but...

    Sydney Colts - 2015

Round 5 reports from the Beasties (better late than never) Colt's Report Round 5 In a game of rugby if you make little or no mistakes you will invariably win …if you make a lot of mistakes you will invariably lose. So it was for the first grade colts making a host of mistakes and they went...
