    State of Origin Concept

I'd rather they as you suggest look to run some kind of 7s series during the break to supplement Super Rugby while also keeping the brands in the market. With the recent interest of Ali Baba I'd love to see the ARU look to use such a series to further engage the Asian market. Use the 5 Aus Super Rugby...

Charlotte Caslick would be a good fit.

    Brisbane Global Rugby Tens

He's 41 according to what I've read on The Roar. I agree on the whole wildcard thing. While I like the concept I really dislike the wildcard gimmick. I think it detracts from the product.

    Waratahs 2017

From the puzzle on fb it does appear to be fairly similar to the training kit.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

The FFR has formed a partnership with the Colombian Rugby Union to help develop programs for competitions, development and coaching.

Only what they have on fb and from the looks of it. It's looking a lot like the training kit.

    Rugby 7s general chat

Considering the men's performance at the Olympics they might be lucky to get tents in the desert.

    Rugby 7s general chat

I was beginning to wonder if they were there to compete or whether they were on an all expenses paid holiday. Pretty sweet life as a 7s athlete.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

There are something like 770 clubs in Australia apparently. You're point about Soccer is exactly what I'm trying to suggest. Schools are where you expose kids to the game but its by using this exposure to then present the opportunity to join and participate in club rugby beyond the school yard.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

I'm talking about linking the Game On program to the clubs as a means of participation. You're talking about the performance pathway. There's a significant difference. I couodn't care less if any of these kids choose to pursue the elite side of the game. At least not in the context of this...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

The Game On program is really only the introductory vessel. It doesn't necessarily translate to participation or interest. We have seen growth which is excellent but more can be achieved by looking to implement programs that are designed to link with one another to provide clear pathways and...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

I agree there would need to be checks and balances to ensure that these funds are being spent for the purposes they are intended. Which is why I would suggest that there should be significant oversight on behalf of the ARU. It should be sold as a Club building initiative. I've been an advocate...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

I think it's the next challenge for the ARU. While it's easy to revel in the success of the program. And from what the ASC has reported it has been a success so far, they cannot rest on it. Not only do they need to work toward growing it (personally top 5 should be the goal) but they also need...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

From my limited experience of the AusKick program the biggest issue contributing to the conversion from the program to actually playing the game is the disconnect between it and the clubs. I'm not a fan of providing the Shute Clubs with funding for performance reasons (anyone of a differing...

    Shute Shield 2017

Why can't the SS set up their operations into two distinct wings. The social and the performance. We have heard in the past that the SS is a vital cog in the pathway of Australian Rugby but yet are still grassroots? They cannot be both in my opinion. Why couldn't each club run a social side that...

    Waratahs 2017

That's something that's always frustrated me both as a player and a fan of the game. Static ball. It's part of the rwason I made pick and drive a big part of my game as I found it more effective than catching tbe ball standing still and then having to generate go forward with the defence having...
