    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

The try issue is why Taps is not a good player to hold - adjusted for tries he really struggles to score points. Unfortunately I will be stuck with him another week. Hoping that the the Chiefs bring back Aki over Ngatai. Ngatai did not do too much for both his tries - a few metre chase of a...

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

Also intend on buying Labuschagne, who is cheap and scoring consitently, and has some interesting games coming up. Halfback just seems a money sink position, to me it's better just to buy, say, Kingi who is half the price of the top scrummies and playing wing so gets more changes. Ngatai or...

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

Dagg is another who is struggling this year. Some of my classic mistakes this week have included having Afeaki and Luatua on the bench, and both made the team of the week this week. Despite this, I still managed to pull off a reasonable 392, which is my best this year so far. BTW, Johnny...

Reds v Force, Super Rugby Round 5, 2013

Mentioned on the Reds thread that I'd like to see Morahan replace him. Toua has had a few chances and should now earn his way there through "A" level and club games. CFS would be more a direct swap in terms of playing style - strong, bullocking runner, (very) limited kicking. I'd pick...

    Reds 2013

I'd like to see Morahan get a start, myself. CFS can fulfill a similar role to Digby, though.

    Waratahs 2013

Vary a bit? Those stats vary by a lot, lot more than a bit. Metres run seems to be a rubbish stat to analyse most of the time due to the variations from different providers.

    Reds 2013

"Assisting police" is used for innocent bystanders as well as suspects, but suspects are normally indicated by journalists. So far news reports imply that Ioane wasn't the one wanted for assault, but we will need to wait to see what comes out. Georgina Robinon's article was a little more...

Poki on 89, of course I don't have him. Best team of the week has Poki has captain, great call that guy. Funny how you can be happy with your team only to get mid to high 300s week after week. Edit: already dropped JP Pieterson for Poki. Have buyer's remorse already - reckon I should've...

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

189 from seven players, including my captain Slipper who was shown to be a fairly average choice. Dagg again not good - he got outscored by his winger McNicholl (who I had on the bench, naturally). Savea is one of those must have players it seems now. Was dumb of me to choose Dagg over him...

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

My losers for the week, hope they don't drag many other people down: Alexander, Slipper (c), (Afeaki) Moore, (some cheap Kings starter) Retallick, Pyle, (Luatua) Messam, Coetzee, Quirk, (McCalman) Kingi, (Alby) Ancombe, (Godwin) Taps, J'OC, (Aki) Piutau, Dagg, JP Pieterson, (McNicholl)...

Brumbies vs Waratahs Super Rugby-R4 2013

Yup, but he didn't analyse in detail how their lineout worked, only that it was functioning well and Moore was throwing well. Wasted some time finding these stats, but here's the Brumbies' lineout stats so far. Vs the Reds: Mowen: 5 takes, 1 steal Kimlin: 1 take Carter: 2 takes Fardy: 4...

Brumbies vs Waratahs Super Rugby-R4 2013

BTW, isn't Chapman proving to be a great pickup for the Tahs? He's covering a few holes, and doing it very well. Sad to see Fitzpatrick was injured, but it's proven kismet for Chapman. I'll be interested to see how Chapman goes at 6, to see if he still has the mobility to play that role well...

    Waratahs 2013

Hey guys, please take the team discussion to the match thread in the Rugby Matches forum.

Really? I may have missed it, but is Kingston injured, or dropped?

    Rebels v Reds RD 4 2013

Yeah, harsh on Morahan, unless there's other issues there - injury, for example. I understand why Morahan fell out of the 22 once Lance got the start, as they kept CFS and Harris on the bench. But, Lance is an interesting selection over Morahan anyway. You get the feeling that Morahan had...

    Wallabies Watch

Gees, you one eyed Brumby fans (the select few on this forum, not all Brumby fans here by a long shot!) have a magical ability to read what you want from posts, regardless of the actual content! Colour me impressed. PS What about missed tackles? Tries scored? If Lilo had better than Taps...

    Wallabies Watch

My point was that you cherry picked a few stats to comapre Lilo to Taps, when a poster correctly pointed out that Lilo was not showing excellent form yet compared to 2012. I agree (for both Lilo and Taps), although I also agree that Lilo isn't in as bad form as that poster insinuated - he's...

Brumbies vs Waratahs Super Rugby-R4 2013

Of course, Dennis could play 8 and Chapman could play blindside - which he originally was. This was free Sita to play lock, but then Lopeti misses out.

Brumbies vs Waratahs Super Rugby-R4 2013

Not sure that Timani for Chapman is the right move this game. Brumbies lineout has been very strong so far, so the Tahs should make sure they select a team that can at least win their own ball comfortably. Chapman may be needed for that.

    Wallabies Watch

I don't think that either Taps or Lilo have been in very good form - yet. Both have had solid starts. That's it. Nothing outstanding for me yet, and that includes Taps' two tries - one from an intercept and one from decent support to Quirk. And the other poster is right in pointing out that...
