    Reds 2016

Sam Johnson is off to Glasgow on a 2 year deal, primarily as international cover. EDIT: didn't see Regs comment

    Rebels 2016

Think his Fiance is a Brisbane lass. Would be a significant pull. Bit crap for Neville though. Could have been on the bench here without uprooting himself. Potentially starting again too, if Lopeti was to return to the 8 jersey.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

That's favoritism, plain and simple. When he's not been injured, he's been in fairly poor form for Leinster. No injury emergency, no changing of the rules. If that is true, and eventuates itself, there's no reason that any overseas based australian should be denied the opportunity to play for...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Slade has been better than all but Sopoanga this season. Does virtually everything right. Probably be starting 10 for everyone else except the Irish and maybe the Poms. Kaino would beat all comers at 6 or 8 for the Wallabies. And Whitelock would be just as valuable as Retallick would be.

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

Hehe. That was one of the worst forward packs I can remember seeing in a long time. 2nd stringers in the front row, tighthead about 4 games back from 18 months out, Lock first game back from 3 months out, lock at 6, hooker and 7, centre at 8, 4th string front rowers plus back from injury...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Yep. Significant bias towards players who played a lot of games. Obviously there are a couple who buck that trend like JJ and Ford, but in general that's players who played more Premiership games instead of European or International games.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Yeah. But it's not quite an appropriate analogy. The best NH locks playing in the English Premiership miss about 5 games between the November Internationals and the Six Nations, then get rested further for Champions cup fixtures, meaning that it's hard for blokes like Geoff Parling, Alyn Wyn...

    Waratahs 2016

Don't get me wrong, if he wants to stay, he'll end up staying. But there will be some sort of small release negotiated, probably just enough to cover the scouting and signing of another player. Best of luck to him, but I'll be disappointed, especially since he was a preemptive replacement to DTH.

    Waratahs 2016

Keeping it simple. http://www.planetrugby.com/story/0,25883,3551_59539,00.html Looks like there's some negotiation to be done if he's to stay. Published after the articles suggesting he'll stay.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Moore captain, Pocock and Hooper vices, the 3 club captains (Higgers, Dennis and Slipper) round out the leadership group. It'll be very unlikely that one of those isn't on the field. If the situation arises that none of them is on the field, there are enough leaders between the likes of...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Apparently an ankle injury which will see him miss all of the RC and potentially a chunk of the RWC. ARU have appropriately said, let Stade Francais deal with it.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

On the basis of that squad, Toby misses out in the front row because Faulkner plays both sides. Simples. 3 hookers is simple too. Of the locks, Simmons, Skelton, and Dennis probably make it, probably Horwill ahead of Mumm. And of the 7 backrowers, I only see McMahon missing out. Can't pick...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Obviously biased. But Mumm? Faulkner? Too many syllables? Plus no Palu and no Jones. To a lesser extent no JOC (James O'Connor), and no McMahon.

    The new Wallaby jersey

Looks a lot better without the stupid filter. Also Richie Gray is tall.
  15. Highlander35

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Doesn't matter. But as you say. Lilo if everybody else is fit, is less established at international level than the other 3, and is more or less a like for like. But also To'omua if his ankle is buggered, Cooper if his shoulder is. Foley is a little bit more safe than the rest because he's been...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Giteau can be 3rd halfback in the squad of 31 so that if one of the first two gets a 6-10 day knock, he can play 10-15 minutes if it's absolutely necessary for the other one to come off. To plan to have him on the bench as 2nd halfback is ludicrous. Besides, he'll be starting in the 12 jersey.

    Rebels 2016

Would've thought that Mike would be signed to the Tahs. Plus with Kepu on the way out, and Robbo and Tilse probably not around in 2017, there's gonna be sufficient opportunities there. Phil Kite was one whom I was reasonably impressed with in the NRC, but obviously the Reds picked Talakai and...

    Rebels 2016

Don't know enough about him to disagree with that. Just feel that an International spot would be somewhat wasted on someone who'd be a fifth/sixth string prop if the rules are consistent. Still, with 3 gone (Gillespie, PAE and Inagaki), it can't be argued that we need at least 2 replacements...

    Rebels 2016

Same one that's played for Cook Islands?

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I guess it depends what you mean. Numbers are just sort of numbers. Dennis and Skelton have packed at loosehead and tighthead respectively, despite having the numbers that indicate otherwise. When Jones and Neville started with each other last season, they did the same thing. Richie Gray has...
