    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Excuse my ignorance, but doesn't Albury fit into the Southern NSW part of the Brumby catchment and would therefore play in the ACT comp?

Which oz players will retire or play overseas after rwc 2011

Brown's versatility is only that he gets picked there. He is NOT international quality in any of the three positions and if the Force selectors don't choose him on the bench behind McCalman, Hodgson and Pocock they are mad. I would pick Waugh over Brown at 6, 7 or 8. Waugh now plays a game...

    Waratahs 2011

I agree with that. Hangers is a very effective runner from 10 but I don't think he will succeed at 12. Barnes shades him as first pick at 10, but not by very much. I wouldn't play Hangers at 10 and Barnes at 12 because as Fatprop says they are too similar.

Adelaide 7s. Should it stay in SA or move elsewhere?

Having been exiled to Adelaide five years ago I would be mortified to lose my one chance at seeing live international rugby. Having stated my personal bias, I would make the following points: 1. The ground is an absolute beauty to watch rugby, particularly from the new stand. Watched the...

    Waratahs 2011

    1. Add in the Crusaders game to the Brumbies as prime examples of going into our shell, plus the Stormers, both games. 2. The prime thing the head coach does is to establish the team mindset. 3. I see Hangers as a very effective back-up to Barnes at 10. I think his skill set means he is...

    Waratahs 2011

Wasn't suggesting we play Carter at 13. I would play Carter at 12 and Horne at 13 when facing big slower centres and Horne at 12 and BKH at 13 for the rest. Cross would back up any injuries. I know this means Horne would switch between 12 and 13 and you wouldn't normally want to do it, but...

    Waratahs 2011

In the face of crap performance (Hickey) you can either go for black humour or outright abuse. Either way its the feeling of powerlessness that we supporters feel when we can see the holy grail almost within reach. But for a few dud selections to the squad and an inability to deliver a...

    Best Referees In The World

I think Barnes is in front of Joubert, who tends to make mistakes and gets a set against certain people, though he's the best of the South Africans by a mile. I don't rate Kaplan, he takes a set against particular teams and cannot referee impartially. I think Rolland is disappointing, though...

Retired Players you miss the most

As a kid I was in awe of Ken Catchpole and watched him on channel 2 every chance I got. Watching the three Ella brothers work together for Randwick was another great highlight. The sum total was always better than the individual parts. Watching Rob Egerton destroy QLD one year was a great...

    Brumbies 2011

Just noticed a picture of Robbie Coleman in full flight on Rugby Heaven. His left knee is heavily strapped. Does he have a knee injury history and is this picture recent?

    Brumbies 2011

Maybe its an indicator of where his deepest yearnings really lie. A couple of years in the wilderness to be followed by the return of the prodigal and the anchoring of the Tah scrum for a generation.

    Greg Inglis?

Are you nuts??? You give me the $10,000 and the broken cup and you can have Anesi. Come to think of it you can just give me the broken cup and you can have Anesi.

Shortlist announced for IRB Player of Year

Hairy Donkey can't even make the best 22 for France, unless the coaching team believe Australia is really a "B" side. No other NH player makes the candidates list. Beale has only started a handfull of tests. Matfield has not had a good season. What can you say? The judging panel has...
