    FORCE v REBELS R8 2013

Clever little inside ball from Godwin to put Mafi through a small gap. Mafi steamed onto it, before being tackled 5m out and the Force lose it as Mafi tries to force an offload. Rebels go early on the hit, Force get a scrum 5m out. Strong shove from the Force, goes down 5m out. Turf has...

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Agree on AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). I think the best players for the Tahs were Foley, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Folau, maybe in that order. The Tahs' pigs is where they lost the game. Hooper was all over the park but doesn't have the impact at ruck time that he needs. Pocock, Smith and Gill all well ahead in this area to Hooper.

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Yeah, the Canes pack is arguably the weakest in the NZ conference. The Tahs needed to attack them there, like the Reds did. Instead by playing too wide too often and not committing players to protecting their own ball they invite the Canes to rip into them on the counter. Cheika needs to...

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Hooper's knee just goes out before the line. I think that was a bit of white line fever from Hooper, who didn't have the pace to finish the try. Needed to step back inside or look for support. Canes win 41 to 29, exciting game. Both teams played some good rugby, throwing it around. The...

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Canes throw a forward pass and lose the ball 40 from the Tahs line, and it's a turnover. Tahs go wide to AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) who makes a half break on the outside. Tahs spin it back left, only to have Arde Savea again turn it over. Canes grubber ahead, and Tahs run it back again with time about to run out...

Strong Tahs scrum, ball rolls out the back on the Canes side, Perenara goes blind and makes a break. Canes now hot on the attack, into the 22. Canes kick to the corner for Savea, Savea is on his own and lets it bounce, but the bounce is very very lucky for the Tahs, and Dennis reclaims it.

Tahs get the kick off, and you bet it, run it back. They go side to side, gaining ground, before Hooper gets a loopy pass and knocks it on on the left wing.

Folau stepped back inside a covering loosie, too. Foley hits the post with the attempted conversion, no goal. Great strength from Folau, carrying Conrad Smith over the line there. 41 to 29, 5 to go.

Tahs maul from the lineout, go nowhere, but Canes come around offside. Kick to 10 out. From the lineout the Tahs maul again, and get stopped again. They go wide to Folau, who powers his way over from 5m despite several people around him. Great effort from Folau.

Tahs reclaim their kick off. Tahs work on their kick offs has been great tonight. Tahs quickly drive it to 10 out until Douglas gets a pass behind him and drops it. Canes clear to about 30 out. Desperate Tahs attack is finding ground but their protection of their own rucks is woeful and...

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Ardie was fine. Tackled Hooper, no ruck former, got straight back to his feet, then drove over the first Tahs player arriving. Tahs gave away a penalty prior to the grubber and Barrett duly kicks it. 41 - 24 to the Canes, 9 to go. Exciting game.

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Kepu with a strong run breaks a few tackles and brings the Tahs to 35 out. However, their ruck protection is again woeful and the Canes quickly turn it over. Canes spread it to Savea who breaks three tackles to reach 20m out. Barrett grubbers through again, but this time Mitchell dives on it...

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Tahs get a half arm for Canes going early, take a quick tap but the Canes turn it over immediately ad clear to halfway. Savea crunched Hooper. Again. Then created the turnover. edit: The Ardie variety of Savea.

That was Conrad Smith who turned it over, by the looks. Smith has been fantastic this afternoon. 16 missed tackles from the Canes, 10 from the Tahs. 38 to 24, 13 minutes to go.

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Kingston on. Short throw 5m from the Tahs line, Lucas goes straight through the lineout. Throws a pass to Horne's feet, he holds it. Next ruck Foley goes straight through again, tackled 22 out. Hooper from dummy half throws it to no-one and the Tahs start again. Tahs spreading it now...

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Tahs defence is getting slow to align and the Canes are making ground easily mid field. Barrett kicks to touch 5m out.

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Ryan on for Kepu. Tahs run it back off the kick off with some offloads before Goodes steals the ball from Ryan in the tackle. (Hooper got crunched in the ruck before for his efforts.) Canes spread it wide but are forced into touch.

Alex; that is never, ever, ever called offside, especially for flat passes. Please let it go.

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Tahs give it some width from 10m out and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) makes a half break to carry a defender over the line. Good pass from Foley pass the dummy run of Horne let AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) just get on the outside of his man and he dives over the line.

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Saturday 6th April

Tahs steal a lineout. Mitchell makes a short break a few phases later off a short pop ball mid backline. Chapman with a loose offload but they get it back. Tahs look best when giving it some width in this game.
