Hamish is about 50% of Hegarty at 10. Certainly in attack and organisation.

So we target #3 for a return perhaps of White, JOC (James O'Connor) and To'omua. Which may or may not be our strongest team.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

How does this compare to Aus teams being clubbed every week by NZ, and the local derbies meaning nothing as the only action in town toward finals is on the other side of the ditch?

    Where to for Super Rugby?

If you presume the comp remains static with no further development you might be right. Don't think that this is what is suggested though.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Can only agree here. I was responding to an earlier comment that NZ will assist. So far NZ "assistance" has been 100% about NZ. Can't blame them for that but it's silly to suggest otherwise.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Dave, I'd run with dilution. And I doubt it'd "dilute" much. But I'd prefer a system with the Kiwis if they have even a chance of working with us.

    English then.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

No, not really. Each side requires different things. Those things if answered fully for both can't exist in the same comp. Australia is not in a position that it can compromise. NZ may well be the same. Which means a full TT is not an option - if you need those "different things" catered for...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

What was good for a golden age in a different era, might be less than good for the long term health of the game in the long run - and in a different era. Right? What drives player wages is revenue. Were had better broadcast and following under the domestic than the TT. Higher quality does not...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

So let them "not go for that". Any suggestion that we need the Kiwis more than they need us simply needs to be tested. RA should go domestic, invite in Fiji if they actually look promising. That backdrop looks far more positive in Australia than the comparison in NZ. They can stick to themselves...

Cron? Perhaps ask Cheika back in the DOR role? I know he doesn't want to interrupt things, but could it work?

I'd agree, but: https://www.rugby.com.au/news/dave-rennie-new-wallabies-welcomed-to-the-dark-side-2021613 Rennie is not getting cute with this French series and risking a loss by playing a blended “B” line-up for the midweek Test in Melbourne. “No. Honestly, guys can back-up and play big...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I won't be watching it to any depth next year. Possible look deeper into hospital cup, but I'm not supporting this shit show. I'll get behind domestic if it happens. Not as a sub-set of the TT shit show.

An Aussie actually watched it? Wow. To quote Mr Pillock, "2 fucks not given".

    Where to for Super Rugby?

yes for TT. Also exactly the same with NZ domestic simultaneous with Aus domestic + TT champions league. In neither version will Aussies flock to view the Kiwi games. Aussies will also not flock to watch the Aussie games in the former but they will in the later.

I couldn't agree more on the home games, though 6 is not enough. But if you are calling the TT a 6 game per week series, this only happens with Drua and MP (Moana Pasifika). Nothing stops them joining the domestic comps. Thus 6 games. If Aus fans will watch the NZ games they will watch the NZ domestic comp...

With respect to the actual rugby at TT, in 2022, presuming it happens: I expect the coaching to adapt with a much higher focus on D. Structure to D. Then some work around territory which possibly means thinking through the line out. Though personnel will impact this. There will be lessons...

A lot of those "factors" are covered if you change add "as managed by RA". After that it depends on the metrics you use for success. If participation, crowds, broadcast numbers and commercial success are the metric then it is a palpable fail. If it is engagement at the grass roots, palpable...

It is one thing to encourage $ recruitment. It's another to do this after reducing the cap. Doesn't make sense to me.
